Obviously, get around people in the business who do.
Are you a club DJ wannabe? or a broadcaster? Karaoke host? I sense you like the Latin works best. Start there.

First, you should talk to a DJ'er, or few, and learn some their trick of the traide, and check out their equipment.
Standard DJ equipment these days are a lab top with the music in it, a simple sound mixer thingy (I don't know the actual name of it, sorry), and four speakers for each corner of the room. Sometimes they have show lights and smog for gimmicks.
Go to a few dances and clubs, and observe how some music affects people. Are they dancing to it, standing around to this one, bobbing their head and singing along with the song, or complaining about it?
After observing the type of music you want, lesion to the radio, or some other source of music, to get some of the newest stuff that people will dance to. You can toss in some unknowns, also.
Ahhh, that's all I can think of. Hope this helps
