i am writing a research paper for school and we have to document our sources. One problem is i forgot how you do it when you get the information from the internet. you see i got it from the FBI website and but no author was noted so do i cite it like this: (FBI) or (FBI 1997) 1997 was the year it was documented. If neither of does is the right way then what is? thanks in advance

I would list the website (ex: www.fbi.gov/(article name)_1997
or something similar. Or, you can go to this website (Purdue Univ. English Department)--they go into detail and have links on how to document sources from websites:
http://owl.purdue.edu/handouts/research/r_docsource.html
