All I do is work. I never have time off anymore. I am lucky enough to have the rest of the week off. Heres my prob: My room is filthy! My cat knocks things on the floor. She gets in her litter box then tracks little pebbles of litter and cat crap all over the floor. She pukes on my bed and on my floor. She sits and begs for grass which I pick from outside and bring in to give her. She eats tape. Then pukes it up on the floor. She sleeps in my window now I have her hair all over my curtains, on my bedpillow, comforter etc...
First off plz dont tell me to lose the cat. But I do need some advice cuz Im cleanin it all up tonite. What kinds of things can u do to relax and enjoy once you have a really clean room? Theres a thunderstorm brewing outside which is somewhat inspirational but I do need motivation! I have some really cool hot tea to drink. Just lookin for inspiration, motivation, etc...so if u can come up with something creative for me, I'd enjoy reading it AND pick u as best!

Ok, here's what I have for you. I would say DON'T get rid of the cat. She probably just needs some training (with you being at work a lot - she does what she wants).

So, for your cat tracking stuff all over - get some artificial grass or a specially made mat for her to scratch her feet on once she gets out of her litter box. The material of either one will grab the pebbles out of her paws and get stuck so it doesn't get tracked all over the house.

The puking and stuff - that all has to do with the grass. Cats (and dogs as well) eat grass to make them vomit. That's the only thing it's good for. So, stop giving it to her. That should stop her from vomiting on your bed, etc. Maybe try changing her cat food to something different - she may not like it and is still hungry and that's why she wants grass.

Getting her to stop sleeping in the window is not going to be a quick fix. If she's been doing it for a while, shes probably going to keep doing it. If you want to try to train her to stop, get a spray bottle and spray her with water whenever you see her getting ready to jump up there. OR, you could re-arrange your room so she either 1) has a harder time getting into the window, or 2) doesn't get her fur all over your stuff when she does get into the window.

Re-arranging might be a good way for you to get into a new mood to relax and enjoy your surroundings. I like to rearrange my room with some music playing and a cool breeze. While I'm doing that, washing sheets. When everything is done, I get one of my season DVDs (usually Seinfeld or House) and enjoy watching them without commercials.

Those are just some ideas. While you're cleaning, you might remember some things you've wanted to do for some time. You never know what memories come up just from a good cleaning. Good luck!

If you own houseplants, get rid of them. Next, brush your cat's hair with a cat brush everyday, especially be diligent in the summertime when cats shed a lot, then brush the cat twice a day, even if it's a short hair. You might have to switch to 'high end' cat food. Not Purina one or friskies or Iams, but stuff that costs about $11 a bag (although you don't have to use as much). Sometimes cleaning up the whole room is too much. Work at cleaning half of it so it's perfect. Then reward yourself with music, or a good DVD. Work on the other half of the room the next day. If you find cat hairs anywhere, like sheets, pillows, carpets, you have to wash sheets & pillowcases in hot water at least once a week. You could also try an air filter. Finally, scan your room. Anything that COULD get knocked over, probably will by your cat. Put that stuff somewhere so your cat can't knock them over. And just keep at it.

You contradict yourself in the first sentence ...
"All I do is work. I never have time off anymore. I am lucky enough to have the rest of the week off." If all you do is work then why do you have the rest of the week off ?
If you want a cat ...then you have to accept the responsibilty of caring for it and cleaning up after it....if not ...then lose the cat !
Once the room is clean relax by making your tea....light a few candles and put some relaxing music on Take a nice hot shower and pamper yourself with some exotic smelling body lotion. Tell yourself ...your life is not so bad....you could have a few kids to clean up after....then think how lucky you are that it's only a cat and you'll feel better almost instantly !

Probably you feel lonely. Your cat might be really happy that you are there. Cats are filfthy but they are also lovely. Clean up and put some candle on. (Out of reach of the cat). Many people feel sometimes like dying, so you are not alone with your feelings. Just do not give up. Tomorrow is another day. Find yourself a hobby. Can you do a long distance course? Can you do something for somebody else?Something nice. Do you feel left out? Others feel this too from time to time. Take a piece of paper and write down your choices you have to make your life more interesting and more in order. Choose one choice and be it only the choice to change your attitude. All the best, love and hope you cheer up.l

I am VERY lazy about cleaning as well. I have NO excuse because I have three kids. When I dont feel like cleaning, I put on a movie and clean while I am watching it or just listening to it. At least I feel like I have some enjoyment. It has to be a really inspirational movie though like The Prize Winner Of Defiance, Ohio. Thats the movie about the lady that has 10 kids and makes it big writing jingles - true story (gives me hope to be a published author someday :) You will be so exhuasted after cleaning that you will probably just want to sleep (if your in the states) Put on a good movie and get cleaning...you'll feel so much better when you're sitting in your nice clean room:)

'Uh yes the cat, I have one of those, he's Siamese. He cuts me with his nails and bites me when i hold him he is just too young still and wants to play little tough guy! My older cat is really mad about this and doesn't talk to me any more.your cat sounds like a little training would help. Try feeding only in the morning and only dry cat food mixed with a little moist food have his liter box ready, give him fresh water to drink and nothing more until he stops throwing up. If he still does it next it's the vet for a check up as to whats causing it. Cats act up when their sick or angry if they spend too much time alone. It's a chore alright to care for anything or anyone and work full time. Your exhausted and need some rest, now is the time to take a good nap and go out to get some fresh air anywhere for a little bit. Keep the communication line open I would like to know if any of this helped you, it will pass and you will feel better. Eliza

Here I sit in my filthy room and I'm feeling quite bitter,
I just stepped in a big pile of my cats used kitty litter.

I tried to scrape the crap off from the bottom of my feet,
I flung it out the window and hurled it out in the street.

Little did I know that my Dad's friend was walking by,
oops! I thought I tossed that crap higher up in the sky.

I ran for my bed and put the covers up over my head,
there was a knock at my door and this is what they said,

"hey you little asswipe, just what were you thinking?
And something smells in this room it's really stinking."

I told my Dad's friend that if he didn't like it he could leave,
and about that time he yanked me up by my sleeve.

My gosh you projected that turd far and it really gives me the willies,
have you ever though about baseball, maybe playing with the Phillies?

My Dad's friend was an agent and now I play baseball for money,
Isn't it strange how things work out, it's really pretty funny.

I've had 2 cats.Pywakit and Baby Kity.I don't understand why your cat is problem. My cats were able to run around, play with the dogs, run thru the yard, screw around with other cats and come home and stay all night in the house. They had good meals and were not allowed on the counters or furniture. They were , however allowed on laps and beds, also their own sleeping pads.
Occasionally they did bring back their kills of Vermin and other pest and engaged in roughhousing with the other animals, including dogs ,horses, chickens and pigs, but were very loyal in defending the place from hawks, weasels, rats, and any other invaders.
They ,of course, took their place each night in the bedroom ,with my wife and the dogs, by the bed ,to rest for the night where they were safe with us all.

I have taken the exams to get in the university three times...the last time I had a separate room to study in which was always cleaned up by my mom...I got into university...
my point is clean the space you live in...it will help you focus better
personally I hate cats but do sth for the situation...do you have a garden or a balcony? let her play in the dirt...or have a restricted area in your house for the cat alone...
When I tidy up my place I like playing really loud music (especially Led Zeppelin), lye on the floor+put my feet on the wall, that relaxes me.+the quality of sleep I'm getting is far better...It's the energy, man, feng shui...

I would read a book I hadn't time for or draw something, or eat a big piece of chocolate / tea is also good. Then I'd phone or ICQ my best friends and have a little chat with them. And of course I would firstly turn on my CD player and play the CD I like the most.
