I feel like there is a stabbing in 3 different places down my right shoulder..next to my shoulder blade, next to my neck, and on the joint.

Does anyone have an idea as to what this is and how to stop the pain?

well..I attempted some of the stretches, but it only made it worse...the pain is there even if i dont move it. I'm trying putting heat on it, i believe it may be a muscle knot...there is a bump in the location where there is none on the other side

Have you been tense lately. If so you could have muscle tension, which is similar to your muscles becoming light taut, tight rubber bands because of stress. Have you been using your shoulder a lot for carrying things or from sports? If so, you could have a muscle strain, which means they muscle is inflamed somewhat because blood is rushing to the area to try to relieve the strain. If you were in unbearable pain, you could have torn something, like a rotator cuff, but that would mean you'd be in such pain you could barely stand it. Try resting the area and as soon as the pain lets up, to some stretching, but stop as soon as the pain comes back.

Without knowing if there is inflammation in the joint, it would be hard to say. But if there is, then you are more than likely experiencing a possible bout of bursitis. This is when the bursa ( shoulder joint ) becomes inflammed, and it causes very sharp, and in some cases, excruciating pain.

My advice to you, having suffered this before a few times, is to get to a doctor and see if that's indeed what you have. If so, they will give you pain medications, as well as a steriod shot to reduce the inflammation in the joint. If you let this go, you are going to be in very bad pain. Please get it checked out before it gets worse.

You may have what is called a TORN ROTATOR CUFF in the ball joint of your shoulder. Check with your doctor to be sure, however. My mother treats hers with heat, or pain patches. I have something similar, just from reaching up over my head to adjust the thermostat on our furnace/air conditioner. :(
My mother got hers from a fall.

it could possibly be a pinched nerve, or muscle tension.
