I heard a long time ago ... it doesn't matter anymore. Straight and Gay men were them in both ears or one ear (right or left).
So I'm thinking your going to have to figure something else out!

If we do not include Emos and Goths and other emotionally deprived cry babies who try to get attention by defacing their appearance while at the same time getting offended when anyone gives them attention for their disfigurement...
Time has not changed anything for the general population of Western culture in the matter of earrings. Left is considered "heterosexual" and Right is considered "homosexual". Since only women traditionally wear earrings on both ears (with the exception of those noted above), a heterosexual who wanted to pierce both ears without appearing effeminate would pierce two on the left and one on the right; and it would be reverse for a homosexual.

It used to be "Left is right and right is wrong", from a heterosexual homophobic point of view. But it's been about twenty years since that was likely to be an accurate description of events - many people just like the look on one particular side, or get both done, and what do you do if you're bi?
And there are people like me who, if they were trying to send a signal, might have gotten it mixed up (I'm horrible distinguishing left from right).

Right ear.
But double-check. Many people who pierce their ears may still get it mixed up.
