NO! Most of the people they see aren't shaved.
Just wash the outside well before you go. If you go there from school or the office, use a baby wipe before you go in the exam room.
You may laugh, but sometimes people have disgusting personal hygiene.

Doctors understand that women have pubic hair. If you hand to remove the hair however, buy some wax strips from the drug store or get a professional Brazilian wax! DO NOT SHAVE! I REPEAT DO NOT SHAVE!! It causes pimples and you can still see the hairs. It is also obvious that you shaved. WAX GIRL! WAX

I think this is a personal preference, although I always wonder the same thing when I go on. I figure they see a gazillion crotches a day, so I 'groom' it as I normally would. The are focusing on examining the 'inside' anyway...

your Doctor is a professional, they don't care, they see tons of them, its up to you if you just don't feel comfortable, but absolutely not necessary
