First of all you are there are no specific back and front tires they are all the same, unless you have a sports car or expensive car that has wider back tires, second of all what does he need to fix exactly?!?! And $200 was just added in there... GET IT?!

Ummm..Yes you are..Most tires are the same all the way around, unless your car specifically requires a different size for front and rear..
I would ask the guy why it costs $200 for a tire rotation and maybe check your car's owners manual to see the specifics about the tires it needs.

You also could try looking on the side of the tire and see if the sizes match... Read your owner's manual! It is always a good idea to know the basics about your car to avoid this kind of thing...

Most mechanics are honest..but the ones that aren't..REALLY AREN'T...

Good Luck!

Oh and yes...I guess the question is funny...I laughed, but it's not THAT funny....

Typically, tires are not position specific, that is why tires are suposed to be rotated? As tires wear down, it is a good idea to have them rotated, this will keep your tires at about the same level of wear with the same ammount of tread left.

You probably just need your tires rotated, and this should not cost you anywhere NEAR $200. If you have a jack, jack stands, a tire iron, and about 30 mins, you could do it yourself. Ask the mechanic why he feels the need to charge you $200 to rotate your tires.

Just tell him that you will have it done elsewhere because you don't like being lied to and taken advantage of. If this man is not the owner, speak with the owner and tell him or her that you will take your business elsewhere and advise everyone you know to do the same until they have honest mechanics working for them.

he is definitely ripping you off on the side of the tire it shows the tire say something like p215/70R/14 do they all match? more then likely they do...Next are they rotational/directional? do they have an arrow on them showing the direction of there proper rotation? then you are probably O.K. do nothing you probably just need a tire rotate. real easy to do just put both back tires on the front and both fronts on the back...and check your tire pressures... This guy is scamming you Hardcore.go to someone you can trust most places will do a tire rotate brake inspect for really cheap like 40.00 if not Free Tell him you want a wiper rotate your mufflersbearings changed and you need a blinkerfluid topoff.

Unless you have a very exotic car, there are no such thing as back and front tires. But you will get better wear out of your tires if you rotate your tires. that is exchange the front and the back ones. (but they are still the same tires on all four wheels. ) If that's what he means then the idea is fine but the price is outrages

Yeah I get the humor of it. If you have improper ware on the tire you need to have them replaced. You will be amazed as to how the ride and handling of the car is improved with new tires. Go with a Name brand like good year, michellen, or bridgestone tire. they may run a little more but the ride and handleing of the car is way better then the generic brand tires.

You are getting ripped off. It usually costs about 20 or thirty dollars to rotate the tires. Go to a different shop.

1st off, your front and back tires are the same on most cars... so assume theyre not on backwards, thats bs... unless you can actually see a diference in width or size of them...but something you can lookt is if the treads on either the front or back tires are worn more than the other... this could warrent a rotation... but that shouldnt cost more than 30 dollars... so yes, he is trying to rip you off....

Don't pay 200 bucks unless somehow you're getting some new tires out of the deal.

your mechanic is ripping you off. its not the fronts on the back or the backs on the front. he is lying. the tires are on the wrong side the rights or on the left and the lefts are on the right. any good tech would now that
