A LIGHTBULB IN MY HOUSE HAS JUST TURNED ON ITS PART OF A FIXTURE OF 6 BULBS
AND THIS PARTICULAR ONE HAS NEVER WORKED

Probably a Liberal Poltergeist looking for revenge because you're not using "Green" bulbs to save energy and the Environment.
I suggest cooking meat sautéed in animal by products and turn on the military channel the volume up.
This shall rid you of your Left Wing Will-O-Wisp!

I believe in ghosts, but I think you've watched 1 too many ghost movies, if that is the only thing that can explain a haunting. There would be more to a haunted house than a lightbulb turning on. but dont worry your but off. When Im scared, I just watch a kid movie or a romance or a comedy, or just tv show to filter your brain to keep it off your mind until your sleeping or until morning/daytime. Call or invite a friend over to stay with you for the night so you dont feel alone. There is probably a logical explanation for that light fixture that suddenly turned on. You can figure that out in the morning. Have a good sleep!

You probably have a Polterghost
But they cant hurt you
They just try and scare you
Wich is working take a deep breath turn on all the lights and close the blinds and turn on the t.v and go to sleep make sure everything is locked and you will be fine.
no ghost can hurt you even if you see them they can do nothing they cant touch you and you cant see polterghosts.
Just go to sleep and you will laugh it off in the morning
Depending on your age and who is in your house and what your friends are like it could just be that something has hit a wire dont stress dont worry dont e scared its fine.

Ok there is no need to be scared ....it may just be a faulty light which has decided at random to turn on....or it might be a spirit
If it is a spirit then you have no need to worry, its just trying to get attention - ask what it wants !
If you are bothered then you can do a cleansing on your home to remove the spirit.

I think that if you're that scared you should just turn off the entire light and go to bed and if It's on when you wake up get a bat and beat the S-hit out of it,It'll at least make you feel better.

Faulty wiring. I had a light that never worked from the day I bought it, I plugged it in to show the lady that I was going to sell it to and *poof* it worked.

^ There is a short in the wiring, the same thing happens to my ceiling fan lights, one of the bulbs goes on and off.

IT MIGHT JUST BE YOUR ELECTRICAL WIRING IN THE HOUSE CALL A ELECTRICAN AND GET IT LOOK AT FIRST IF NOT FIND OUT YOUR HOUSE PAST HISTORY IF ANYBOSY DIE THERE IF SO ASK THEM TO LEAVE
