Well the little girl i met's name is spelt Nakyah prn (nuh-ki-uh) / Nuh-ki-yuh) ki as in sky.
I think the spelling is ugly and doesnt look right but what do you think of the spelling I thought of?
Nakiah, how did you prn this when you saw it?
If you can think of a better way to spell Nuh-Ki-Uh / Nuh-Ki-Yuh

That's really an awful name, and it does sound like the Nokia phone brand.

I like the name but a little confused. If it Nakiah as in Nakeya or Nakia, then no. I have a friend and hers is spelled Nickeya. I see it as Nakiah like Nakhiya and I think thats pretty too. I think you should name you child whatever you want, I think race should matter if you like a name

I like Nakiah better because it looks more like nuh-KIE-uh. The other spelling is cute too, but i would've thought it was pronounced nuh-KEY-uh. So for the long I sound, i like your spelling better. It's a beautiful name either way, though.

I'm Native American and my 2 year old daughter's name is Nakiah (spelt just like this). We pronounce it the same way as the little girl you mentioned does. In the hospital, we negotiated between spelling it Nakiya or Nikiah (but with, Nikiah, we didn't want people calling her Niki). As it is, people can't pronounce her name and call her Na-"key"-yah...I guess we should've expected it!

I know a few girls with that name, but its spelled Nakia or Nakeya. There were a lot of them when I was in school about 10 yrs ago.

Nakiah sounds sorta ghetto...as i can see from your avatar, your are white..it wont look too good on a white baby.(nothing against white or black babies!) and if i saw Nakiah i would pronounce it NA-KYE-AH

I firstly pronounced it Knack - i (like igloo)- a. Which I dont like. I like your pronounciation though. But this kid would forever be spelling and pronouncing her name to everyone she meets.
