What is a underwriter and what are voice underwriting announcements? I'm unfamiliar with these term.

An Underwriter is somebody that "sponsors" or pays money to defray the cost of production of a specific program.

For the most part, programs, or broadcast "day parts" on public, or non commercial stations can be sponsored by local businesses in order to promote themselves, and the program.

The main difference between an underwriting spot, and a regular commercial is, and underwriting spot can not have any "call to action" information in it because it airs on the public airwaves.

sponcers , basicly they are paid to do the ads.
