Please answer the following questions honestly.
1) Do you believe we are currently in a period of global warming?
2) If so, do you believe humans are the primary cause of this warming?
2b) If not humans, what do you think the primary cause is?
3) Where did you get your information about global warming (i.e. school, IPCC report, internet, Rush Limbaugh, books, common sense, etc.)?
4) What is your political affiliation (i.e. liberal, conservative, R., D., whatever)?
5) What is your educational background (i.e. high school, bachelor's/master's/PhD in what field, etc.)?
Thank you for your time.

1) Yes
2a) Yes
3)various scientific reports over time (I've followed the development of the research for several years). Mostly peer-reviewed journal articles.
4) affiliation: none. Political philosophy--liberal--in the classical sense, not the current political agendas.
5) 3 advanced degrees/Ph.D. candidate
Nice little poll! :) Let us know what you find?

1. Yea
2. We contribute heavily, but of course we are not the sole driving fource. But it is human involvement that is helping the earth warm up.
3. I get my information from school, tv, internet, common sense, and a general look at what temperatures should be doing at the time of the year.
4. My political affiliation has been Democrat, could say liberal or conservative because there is always someone more extreme than you.
5. Working on Bachelor's degree.
I do believe climate change is a more correct term than global warming. The earth has had many different climates and we are in the process of changing, that is the fact. Look at your record high's in the north east today, washington had 100 degree heat waves, surpassing Texas ( which had an extremely unusual amount of rainfall this past few days.)

Don't see why you need a degree in Physics to understand what scientists are saying on this and many other subjects. Or are you just boasting?
1. Yes because we are.
2. Yes. We pump far too much CO2 and other rubbish into the atmosphere and the oceans. While at the same time we clear forests at a rate which is not sustainable or wise.
3. Too many places to list here.
4. Socialist. For those who equate that with communist ratbag. Give me a break and grow up.

1) Yes, we are in a period of global warming. We have been since the end of the "little ice age." 2) No, humans are not the primary cause of this warming. The thermal haline conveyor causes the earth's climate to gradually vary over time. The conveyor causes a warming until eventually enough fresh water melts from the glaciers to shut down the conveyor, causing the climate to cool a few degrees. The effects of this are noticable mostly to people in our fragile society, but most wildlife adapts or migrates. During the last cooling, known as "the little ice age," the Vikings who had settled Greenland when it was at its warmest died out, the black plague spread across Europe, and many other disasters and hardships occured for humans. Pollution, either from humans or natural sources like the volcanic eruptions which caused the "year without a summer" can slightly worsen the effects and/or speed the cycle. The earth is actually quite efficient at balancing herself, therefore I believe that we humans cannot destroy the earth, we can only destory ourselves. If we want to survive, we must put aside our differences and work for not only conservation but adaptation. Religious-like support for the unfounded and new theory of global warming is only dividing us, but we can all agree that we need to find alternative fuel sources, stop littering and stop polluting our air, land and water. 3) I learned this information from classes, documentaries, and my own research. I am still researching too. I plan to write a novel that deals in part with this subject. 4) Libertarian 5) Sophomore at UC Berkeley, sociology major

1: Yes, we are experiencing global warming.
2: Yes, humans are responsible.
3) If I need to site a single source, I'd say New Scientist (a UK science news magazine, which I don't get, but I frequently visit their web site).
What makes me believe it is that I hear from a variety of quality sources that there's no doubt among the vast majority of scientists -- not just one source. (Reasonable people don't rely on just one source.)
4: I'm a progressive -- well, even a little left of that -- but will accept liberal.
5) A BA and year in grad school; field: philosophy. I was undeclared 5 years and took a lot of science, among other things. And I've read since then, and watched documentaries, and engaged in other learning activities.
You're welcome.
P.S. I hope you realize that you aren't getting a random sample of any identifiable population, and so can't come to any statistically sound conclusion based on the answers you get to this.

1. Yes theres no doubt that the Earth is in a period of warming
2. There is no evidence to suggest that humans are the cause. Solar activity is probably the cause, coupled with the fluctuating magnetic field of the Earth.
3.Ive obtained information relating to this topic from many different mainstream and independent sources. Unfortunately they usually conflict and sorting out the real science takes some effort but one source that's easy to view is "The Global Warming Swindle", you can find it on google video.
4.Political affiliation is rather irrelevant in this argument but if you wish to know I'd say I'm a conservative that loves Ron Paul.
5.Masters in physics
