Ok here's the deal. I know this man personally, he's on Megan's law, been tried, convicted and I KNOW he did these things even if it was 25+ years ago and I'm am very positive he's struck again over the years, (he has never apologized or acknowledged any wrongdoing to his 3+ victims). I found out he's been living in a family RV Park/ Campground and he even managed to get the site right next next to the bathroom/bathing area. Now by law do I have the right to email th eoffice of this joint and tell them what s going on or can I suggest to them that they hop onto megan's law and check out their current tenants (i.e: the occupant of #65?) I don't want to cook my own goose but the thought of innocent little kids running around the area especially to the restroom/bathing area scares that crap out of me. Anyone with a legal knowledge know what my boundaries are on this? Please let me know. Thanks!!!

he has absolutely been convicted. it comes up as "lewd and lascivious acts with children under 14", he molested 3 children repeatedly for almost 12 years.

Well assuming that this guys information is on the web, and I imagine that it is since you say he is a convicted sex offender and all states are mandated to maintain a sex offender registry then I do not think you have anything to worry about. What ever is on that site is not only public knowlege but posted specifically to make the public aware.

However I would go about it a different way. I would first contact either the local police with jurisdiction over the campground and/or someone at that state or county level that is responsible for monitoring of convicted sex offenders. Tell tham about your concerns and hopefully they will look into it. You may then also mention it to the campground owners if you feel that they are not looking into it.

We had a very similar situation here a year ago. A convicted sex offender was reported to us as repeatedly going to two local parks and hanging out near the showering facilities. There was nothing specific that we could get him for at this point but we put some extra eyes on him and extra patrol in the parks and he eventually got the message and stopped doing it.

Now he may be doing absolutely nothing wrong but when it comes to the safety of children it is always better safe then sorry.

call your local police department and ask them. I seem to recall that discussing what is on a public access sight is not wrong.

However, if you were to print the information (Particularly his picture) and distribute it, you could be in some sort of trouble.

In CA you can look them up online. Of course these guys and gals have to register as they move around. Make very very very very sure you make no false accusations. Call the local Police and ask them, that's part of what they are there for.

Again make very very very very (am I saying very enough??) sure that you make NO false accusations. You could "cook your own goose"
