because cigarettes create a great deal of revenue.
because tobacco has been a cash crop for this country since before we were even a country.
because tobacco has great lobbiests.
because more revenue is generated from marajuana being illegal than it would being legal.
because our country sees marajuana as a moral issue
because marajuana makes you stupid and cigarettes do not

oh pooh!
They make and remake laws all the time to fit their needs.
Hemp is no different.
Do some research and you will find that hemp was legal for the countries needs, it was banned by propaganda and then the import for overseas stopped and they made it legal again to fit their needs. Once those needs were filled it was once again illegal.
It's like playing a card game called go fish...
This may get me a good deal of thumbs down, but its the truth and sometimes everyone doesn't agree on what is truth.
There are more people dead from cigs than any from weed.
Actually weed is used medically for many things and is thought to also guard against cancer.
Simply put it is but a mere herb among many other herbs, if they can tax coffee, tea, sage and thyme, surely they have the ability and power to tax cannibis.

The active ingredient in weed is an hallucinogen. LSD is an hallucinogen, much stronger but still creates hallucinations. The Constitution allows the Federal Govt to write laws to protect us from our own stupidity (Health and Welfare)
Cigarettes might kill and then again might not. The same Constitution states "In order to form a MORE perfect Union, not a perfect one.

Because government doesn't get any tax revenue from weed.
I think they should legalize it and tax it just like cigs and alcohol.......
I say legalize all drugs, put a tax on all of it, open up REAL "Drug Stores", provide free needles with the purchase.... Give 'em a place to snort or shoot up and let them send themselves to the graveyard if they want to.
The fewer druggies, the better as far as I'm concerned.

By having to legalizing marjuana there would be a tax placed on it. But by keeping it illegal theres more money to be made. first its a 200billon dollar yr profit. and by keeping it illegal. all the money beening made by drug bust, jail time, lawers ect ect.
