I would love to be able to see it. There seem to be people who simply give everyone else who has answered a question a thumbs down when they add their answer.
There are also the "stalkers" who systematically go through your past best answers and give you thumbs down months after the fact. I always wonder about the type of person who gets joy from that. I would love to know if it's just one person, because then I could try and contact them and inquire politely about their malfunction and sour-grapes attitude. Of course, people like that are rarely brave enough to actually have contact information, so it would be a moot point.
I always give ratings on answers, so people can get an idea of the quality of their answer, regardless of whether or not it gets a best answer for them. I think feedback is a good thing. But I judge each answer by what I truly think. There are people on Y!A that I am not particularly fond of, but if they give a good answer, I give it a thumbs up. To me, it isn't about popularity, it's about the quality of the information which is being exchanged.

I really don't care about a thumbs down there are trolls running around here who will just go down the list and give everyone a thumbs down because they are having a bad day. If someone is having a bad day I surely don't want to be around them. I prefer to give everyone a thumbs up so they can get that point.

Nope. Think about it, with this option, others whose answer got a thumbs down from you would probably be saturated with animosity against you.

Yes and an explanation of a thumbs down.
Also, it would be nice if those friendly sorts who send e-mails of profanity could explain why they are spreading their venom on your inbox.
Oh well, back to the drawing board...

no, because then everyone would be afraid to give thumbs down, and then you would get pissed off and block that user. no, not a good idea.

That would be cool.
But also, I don't think I would like it because then the people I give thumbs down to will hunt me down, LoL
