I own an online business and FEDEX, DHL and UPS are killing me with high shipping charges. The lowest quote from one of them for shipment of 1 box from NY to CA was about $98.00. By the way, each of these boxes measure 43 x 40 x 14 inches.

USPS wouldn't accept it because of the size/measurement.

regular mail is cheaper you might get a empty box when it arrives i moved form ny to ca got a lot of empty boxes had insurance and still did not get money back they wanted every item in the box itemized and proof that i was in there, and what ever you had is always less than the value.

Check with USPS....but with gas at $3.25+/gal...and the odd size of your box...98.00 sounds about right. Only higher volume shippers get better rates.

Go to your post office and ask if they have a rate sheet. You may be able to find it online: USPS.gov
