my brother loves starwars and won't stop watching it at our thanksgivings toghter or x-mas-es and family reunions ...he says its the best movie in the world.. and I am up to anything he says is great because it always is true. But before I start to watch it ...what is so special about it that makes it a great movie?? let me know

Star wars made epic fantasy real. For a generation of people it has defined what the cinema experience is meant to be. Today it is probable that pc games will offer a deeper and more satisfying entertainment solution, but for pure visual and aural pleasure, mixed with basic emotional manipulation, there has never and will never be a better example of cinema than when star wars appeared over 25 years ago. When you think of star wars, you must remember what else was happening at the time. In America, the war in Vietnam had been lost. In the U.K economic disaster was occurring(a 3 day working week, and the army collecting rubbish). It was almost like the two most technically advanced countries in the world were going backwards. Star wars let everybody escape from that reality and reach for a future that was uncertain but ultimately good.

Star Wars are epic movies about good vs. evil. I remember seeing Return Of The Jedi when it was at the theaters in 1983 (I was 5). Star Wars is seen in a spritual way by most...including my mother. According to my mother, the Force is beliving in the higher power. I grew up with Star Wars all my life!!!!

I think that the movies leave you with a great since of hope. Hope that the small and righteous can overcome adversity and work together for the good of the people, hope that evil can see the error in its ways and change for the better. Its a movie about family, and politics,and love, and cooperation. with kick @$$ laser swords and spaceships, what more could you ask for.

It's just a great story. It's very well done (in my opinion) and it is really just a great story. I know I've already said that, but that's what it really comes down to. All the characters are very endearing or intriguingly menacing (as the case may be) and it's in such a new setting. You have classic archetypes (hero stuff) set in space, and it's just great. It's really hard to explain.

Star Wars has a great plot. It has lots of good action scenes with light sabers and the "force". when you start watching Star Wars, watch IV, V, and VI first then I, II, and III. your experience watching the movies will be a lot better.

i do no longer think of they also have a distinctive element like "trekies" yet warries sounds kinda strange, perhaps... starwarsies? nonono, megastar's? naah, if I have been u i might stick to " megastar wars followers" desire i ought to help
