If a volcano erupts near a village... The volcano is blamed for the destruction... Yes, the valcano destroyed the village, but man put the village there in the first place! If the village was not placed there in the first place the village's destruction would have never occured and the eruption would be labeled as beauty... I am here to make the claim that choas is caused by man, for the sole reason that we have feelings, and we have the decision to make the righteos path... Your thought on the matter?

I referred To this as chaos because we see it as such... and I haven't thought about unpredictable disasters... Is it possible to be so prepared that you are ready for all natural disasters? I think the proper wording for this answer is, chaos is mostly caused by man...

Well... our existence is the true factor... If we didn't exist.. No chaos would exist... because we wouldn't be here to judge anything... Because labeling is our fault... what would anything be, if we wheren't here?

hmm... I understand that chaos doesn't exist... but chaos, when mentioned, is usually used in the manner of disorder... but not in ones own life... ignoring the the universe's own order... thats what I'm talking about...

gah... sorry.. Not, "But Not in ones own life"... Just "but In ones own life"

... Okay... I said if nothing that can think existed... Chaos would cease to exist... and fire symbolizes beauty in many cultures and minds... and the burning of things that seem to except death, does seem beautiful... but it's more relying on personal preferences...

Chaos is defined as lack of order.
The universe is so orderly and well defined that it has no scope for chaos.... because it runs on 'cause and effect' principle without a single exception.... there is that inseparable and perfect correlation between a cause and its effect which never seems to be violated.

Chaos is what we perceive when we are unable to unravel the causes of an event and its timing and context of occurrence. Therefore we may incorrectly believe an event to be chaos simply because it is unfavorable to our interests and/or contrary to our expectations.... the fact in such situations is our mere ignorance or inability to predict or protect against the event.

We are part of this orderly universe and totally governed by its inviolable principles.... therefore we are not even capable of creating any chaos... the moment we create an imbalance, the nature has its ways to balance it out... it may be a totally different issue that such balancing out by the nature may not appear to be serving our limited interests well enough...... therefore even if we manage to destroy ourselves, it can only happen in a systematic and orderly fashion of following the cause and effect principle.... I further believe that even if that happens, in the context of the universe as a whole, it would still not amount to anything unwarranted...... destruction of life on earth may very well trigger the creation of a better species elsewhere. I therefore believe that this is why even God would not tamper with the auto governance of the universe... I mean there would arise no need for God to interfere..... and that is the ultimate proof that there can be no chaos...... if we still call anything a chaos, we should be clever enough to know it is an orderly chaos (an imaginary oxymoron) created by our limited and self-centered point of view...... and indeed, this type of chaos is mostly caused by us, as you have rightly pointed out... nature simply balances out whatever imbalances we create through our ignorant and arrogant actions.

There is no right path. Chaos is just an order human beings are incapable of comprehending. Our cute little minds can not wrap around such a concept. You have to think about the universe as an enormous web. Each moment is connected to the next. Each decision I make or you make, each time a rock either rolls or doesnt, each time the wind blows or doesn't, that web changes. Yes, chaos is humans, but chaos is also everything else. From the gravitational forces billions of lightyears away, to the flower my 19 month old son picked this morning. It's chaos. Good question, by the way.....

Sorry, Man deserves a lot of blame for the condition of the world, but Chaos predated Man.
No matter what religion you prescibe or what philosophy or whatever, Chaos was here before our World.
In your example about the village, I agree with you: that is (probably) man's fault. I say probably because, if that is the first time (in Man's memory) that the volcano erupted and there was no sign of an impending eruption, then it wasn't Man's fault. If, however, it was an active volcano, then it was Man's fault. Similarly, every year towns across America (and other countries) are flooded, because the town was built in the flood plain!
Man doesn't create Chaos; Chaos was here first, but Man often ignores the signs and Chaos makes a mess of Man's plans (the best laid plans of Mice and Men are oft gone astray, as Robert Burns said).

Take the example of mount St.Hellens. The volcano was thought by many to be dormant and almost extinct until it blew up, thereby proving the string of volcanos in that area are still very much active. Chaos occurs in nature weather we are there to observe, or in the case of the village get in the way of, or not.

This is due to the fact that the universe is a chaotic place with many different forces interacting with each other producing varied and virtually unpredictable events. We can on some small way be counted as a part of and therefore in some small way helping to direct chaos but we cannot be counted as causing or creating chaos.

Rather we could indeed make the claim that we introduce ourselves to situations involving chaos due to our choices, as is the case in your example of the village. Chaos determines the time and power of the explosion, we determine if we are going to be around to be affected by it.

Hope this helps.

It is also possible to view the processes of the world without such judgments.

I agree that it is the responsibility of the humans who decide to build a village at the foot of a volcano, however, it is virtually impossible to avoid any and all 'harm' that nature can provide. The group of humans can also build the village closer to the water and face a flood. They can move the village inland and be faced with famine or pestilence.

I was also intrigued that you referred to this as 'chaos'.

NO!

It is the NATURAL order of events to descend to chaos. If the village were not there, every animal and plant for miles within the eruption would still be dead. I would not call that beauty.

Just as all things accelerate toward Earth, all things decay, all things break down, everything is being gradually simplified to its most basic state. The only thing that reorganizes matter is reproduction.

Chaos is the natural state of the universe. Man is just always looking for patterns where none may exist. Order, on the other hand, can be achieved through chaotic premises whereas chaos can be the result of stifling order. We, as humans, are able to create chaos in our environment, but not all chaos is the result of human activity.

Man is a chance taker. We gamble on practically everything. As a specie we played the odds and came out a winner - so far. We nestle up to hazards, betting they will never happen and sure enough, they do. The people of the village knew the volcano could get them, but they bet it wouldn't happen in their lifetime - and lost. We don't make the chaos, just play in it.

i think it is more of a balance of "chaos" and "order" in the whole universe and man had nothing to do with it except experiencing it. man had the task to create the village, the volcano had the task of destroying it in order to continue the cycle of everything. the same with the dinosaurs and the asteroid/s, a star and a black hole, the exploding supernova and the earth.

chaos isn't grounded on earth and human emotions.

No, for our entire History as a Species has been within the confines of Chaos. We do not define it. It has defined out Existence and IS Existence.

ORDO ab CHAO.
