Just put it into whatever folder it ask to put it in - after you do that, it runs those very same files in order to install DirectX...

It's as simple as that - it just needs to get the files onto your computer first before it installs them :)

Hi there. If you have Windows Vista on your computer, don't bother. You've got DirectX 10 which is better. Otherwise, if you can see the downloaded file, double-click on it and an installer should run. Just go through the steps. Nothing to it.

Depends on what you have downloaded. If you have downloade d the websetup, it would connect to the internet and download the remaining files into temp directory.

Either ways, once you have downloaded the entire setup, you run the setup and then after installation completes it would ask for a reboot.

Go to microsoft.com.
Find and click on download directx 9.0c.
In the box that says 'save', 'run' or 'cancel', choose 'run'. I think it will ask to verify if you want to 'run from current location'. Click yes.
The rest will take care of itself.
After it downloads and installs, you need to reboot.

you don't have to do anything usually. just go to the direct x website on microsoft, install, and then after installation it will ask you to restart computer to apply changes, and then your done. are you sure you have to put a file somewhere? what operating system are you using? what is the name of the file?

i think thats just were you want to extract it (decompress it)

just make a temporary folder and put it into that. then there will be the setup file in there that will do the rest, and you can just delete that first folder after it's all done.
