I am wanting to get a reduction. I have been having lots of shoulder pain, back pain and its hard for me to exersize. I have complained about it to a few doctors and they documented it for me. I have had MRIs done on my back and I've had a few shots in my back for the pain but those made me break out. Anyway my Doctor told me he thinks it would be a good idea and gave me a name of a plastic surgen to call. Which I will do tomrrow. I have GHP and my doctor says if we documant it really well the insurance will help pay for one. Has anyone ever had one done if so was it resently. Did your health insurance help pay for it? If so did You have GHP or does anyone know on average what persentage the insurance will pay for?

My insurance company paid for 100% of mine.

Some insurance companies will pay 50-100%.

Also, depending on how picky your ins is, you may need documentation or go on a weight loss program before you are approved.

I had my surgery Feb 2006 and don't regret it one bit.

I had mine done only 2 months ago. I too had a lot of back, neck and shoulder pain and physically could not stand up straight due to the weight of them.
I paid 100% of my surgery out of my own pocket
(AU $11,500) as I do not have health insurance, as personally I don't think it's worth it. Since my surgery I have gotten back a rebate of AU $900 from Medicare and as soon as the financial year finishes I will get back $2000 from the Health Tax Benefit- this takes the whole cost down to just over $8000 which is pretty reasonable.

From what I have read on here in the USA a lot of people seem to have majority or all of their surgery covered with insurance.

Breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
