Will store bought fake nails do the same damage to my nails as salon ones?

nowhere near as much. when i was younger i used to use store bought nails all the time. you'll just have to scrape the glue off your nails but it won't soften them as much as regular acrylic ones will.

No because normally you don't buff down your own nails when you put DIY fake nails on. The only reason that it's so bad to get fake nails is because they buff down the surface of the nails, making them thin and damaged.

Most of the store bought ones only have glue. You don't have to grind your nails down. It is less painful, but they don't last as long. So, it's a trade off.

It all depends upon how you apply them. You may do more damage to yourself than a salon would do. Do NOT use superglue to stick them on...
