Anyone can deposit a check if they have your account number.
I have deposited many checks for others, including my employees!
Anyone can endorse a check... best endorsement is this written in legible or block letters:
FOR DEPOSIT ONLY
Your Bank Name
Your account Name
Your full name (not signature)
Signature is optional and not required.
BTW anyone who says a signature is an endorsement, has no clue about the banking system... an endorsement tells the bank how to deposit a check.
Most businesses have an endorsement stamp and the info given above is usually contained in it, along with the bank's ABA routing number.

Best bet is to put "For Deposit Only" on the back of your check and go to the night deposit. Some banks won't even allow another person to make a deposit because the teller gives a deposit receipt, which contains your bank account number. I had a problem depsiting my own husband's check into his account when we still had separate accounts!!!
Get your mom to place it in the night deposit if they give her a bunch of hooplah...it doesn't hurt to try to deposit, but I know for a fact that almost every bank will not allow you to deposit money if it's not your account~I've been there already!!!!

Not sure of the exact law on this but I regularly write "For Deposit Only" on the back of my wife's checks (never get her to endorse them I just write that) and put it into our account and nobody seems to care. This is a joint account that I am also on, but I doubt that makes any difference, as they have never asked me for id when I'm just making a deposit.

All that needs to be on the back of the check is "for deposit only" with your account number. It shouldn't be a problem.

She can write "for deposit only" on the back of the check with your deposit slip.
I have never been asked any questions when depositing a check into a friends or family's account.
It's when you withdraw, then they ask you for id.

As long as you have a signature and she isn't cashing it you do not need to be there. If you won't be there on Friday to sign your check, I would say wait until you get back from out of town, allow her to forge the signature, or put her on your account for the time being.

You neglected your huge danger at court docket, and you're fortunate you have not have been given a warrant for not displaying up after being served. nicely, you may verify on that still... in easy terms a delightful heads up. Ignoring a summons is grounds for "Contempt of court docket". and that they does not take place at your door, however the subsequent time you get pulled over for a value tag, you may nicely be getting cuffed and crammed. i could call the police station to work out in case you have have been given a warrant. in case you do, get all the way down to the courthouse ASAP and notice the decide that became scheduled on your case and beg forgiveness. because of the fact which you have a judgement against you, no person has any reason to launch your lien till the debt is paid in complete. no person in contact cares approximately your expenditures, charges or lease. they choose their funds. as much as now as being "garnished" till now your court docket date, this is something you will could take in including your creditor. that would not make experience, yet in spite of this, i'm not in contact. i'm hoping this would not sound indignant or mean, yet merely the information, ma'am. stable success. by utilizing the way, with a joint account, they are going to take the money in spite of who earned it. sure, even "the different person's funds". yet a salary garnishment skill that they are going to touch your HR/company to take the money till now it even is going on your paycheck or direct deposit. in many circumstances they are going to garnish your checking account to sidestep you being embarassed at artwork. yet once you shut the account, they are going to finally get the money from you one way or yet another.

If she's on your account, she can deposit it for you.
You do have to endorse it yourself.
