I'm wondering If I should overclock the Intel Core 2 Duo e6700 (2.66 ghz) to 3.33 ghz. Is it worth it? thank you

Well first of all, I do a lot of hardcore gaming.
Second it is in fact very possible to overclock -.- (it just takes lots of time and testing) Some people have even gone up to around 4.0ghz on the Intel C2D e6700. I'm only asing for 3.3 ghz (333x10)
so people who actualy know what they are talking about, please answer my question.

AND YES I am 100% sure my motherboard and my cpu cooling can handle the 3.33 ghz upgrade. I just need to hear your thoughts about it

You sound like you know what you are doing, and since you know that much about it I assume you are aware of the risks involved, and are ready to take the necessary precautions (cooling, testing, etc.). So I would say if you don't find the risk too great, then go for it. I would say however that if you are looking for increased gaming performance, don't expect too much. The only situation where I could see a noticeable performance increase in a game is if you have a very A.I. intense game, otherwise the graphics card will probably be your limiting factor. But of course the increase in speed will help in other tasks, so I would say go for it. Not really sure what else you wanted to know, if you had a specific question, feel free to instant message me, I do have experience in this area.

Not really that necessary, but you can do it just for fun. Just make sure you know what you're doing.
"depends on what you do with it.. gaming, editing, other good fun stuff.. but if you do it can become unstable over time (or suddenly) and it wont last as long."
Yeah, it won't last you 15 years. It'll only last you 10.
It won't be unstable unless you mess too much with voltage setting etc. It should be fairly easy to OC considering how much they're OCed and the fact you can find STEP BY STEP guides just by searching on google.

your cpu is fast enough.. why need to overclock it.. most of the time, over clocking doesnt work. doing so will sometimes make your pc not work. before, in old models, overclocking works.. but what i know, nowadays, intel has locked the overclocking option because it is not good for the system. even if you overclock it, it will still be performing the same way as before,,
so i suggest not to overclock it.

you have the means to do it by the BIOS. Hit delete or perhaps with button at boot up, taking into bios. look heavily at recommendations. seek for internet for diverse counsel.

You can if you need.
But what is your motherboard?
If your motherboard is good enough, overclocking will be good.
