There are no good copies of Norton. It's garbage. Go to http://www.download.com and download AVG.

Nortons is pure junk, resource hog, and will leave 375 plus fragments glued to your files, folders, registry and system, if you ever decide to remove the program. Nortons is only good at slick marketing skills, and not good with finding a virus or viruses.
Here is a free program that is light years ahead of Nortons.
Here is an excellent free antivirus program from AOL, Active Virus Shield powered by Kaspersky Lab of Russia. Rated # 1 in the world for virus detection. You will get auto updates every hour on the hour, plus an excellent background scanner that really works great. AOL, will only ask you for your email so they can send you a free key good for one year. After one year just request a new key.

After some unhappy experiences with software from Symantec (the publishers of Norton Antivirus) I vowed never to buy any software from them again. I use AVG Antivirus. It's free for home use and avaiable at www.grisoft.com
I've been very happy with it; Grisoft updates virus definitions much more frequently than Norton.

Usually, free anti-virus sucks.
The makers don't benefit from it.
And, you CAN'T get a free copy of Norton Anti-virus. Symantec doesn't allow it. If you do, thats most likely not legimate/genuine.
Try McAfee
or Kaspersky
or AVG

Free for personal use (go to download.com to check them out) anti-virus include AVG and Avast. (Use only one anti-virus program.)
You should add a firewall (Zone Alarm, perhaps) and spyware protection (there are many; again, check download.com and read both editors' and user's reviews).

That's an amusing question!
I'm sure you'll find a free one somewhere, which will prove you always get what you pay for.
