The thing with a triple play is everything happens so fast you need to blink to realize it. A team goes from a two on, no out situation -- ripe for a big scoring inning -- to inning over, and whut wuz that I just saw? (And you won't even get the replay until after the commercials.) A TP is too rare to anticipate, so it's always a surprise (unassisted is niftier, but it has the same result).

Seriously a "whoa!" moment, when your brain catches up a few seconds later.

An unassisted triple play is awesome. Troy Tulowitzki did it this year for the Rockies. However, if I saw a game ending triple play, I'd probably drop my pants and run up and down my street in excitement.
