I'm starting to get really pissed off about all of the bad music and movies that have been coming out lately. In dumb movies, there is a SEQUEL to High School Musical which is both corny and cheesy at the same time. Next, there are unnamed car flicks that try to get away with everything. If you have other dumb movies, you can include that in your answer. Another thing is music. Isn't music supposed to be a sub division of ART? Unfortunately, I've noticed some very grim releases such as MIMS (This is why I'm hot should have NEVER been released onto this world), and a bunch of songs having to do with sex, violence, and drugs. I personally respect those trying to lift us out of this new cultural dark age (like Green Day, Sean Lennon, and others), just if you wanted to know.

So, do you also think that music and movies are on the cultural decline? Thanks, your answers are most appreciated!

i whole heartly agree, the movie industry is lost to the next generation so consumed in making a lot of cash and kissing every stars ***,they lost their touch on how to make a good movie.movies nowa days are attracting the teenage or younger crowd, who seem not to care how a real good movie is made,as long as it has the latest pop or top 10 song, and the latest cute or hot actress or actor, todays youth can care less about the quality of a good made film, they need to go back and see how in the days gone by the movies used normal people and no name extras, that made the scenes look and feel real,as for music,im in my thirtys and todays music is so commerciallizzed its sick, did you know that music companys pay dj's to play songs to death and call them hits

The fact of the matter is, all of this is your own opinion. I absolutely hate South Park, and I'm surprised it was so popular.. I find it trashy, crass and downright annoying. But does that mean it should be cancelled or that it is an awful television show? Absolutely not. Sometimes, you're just going to be part of a minority group. I'm a smoker and I remember when it used to be cool to smoke. Now it's frowned upon and people often judge smokers. I love music like Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry, but I'm sure in 10 years time the music scene will be completely different and I'll be part of the minority who hates current music and longs for decades ago when I thought music was better. Times change, and people change. Maybe you were just born into the wrong decade! The point is, being a minority sucks, but every single person fits into a minority no matter where they are or what they're interested in. This doesn't give you the right to call artists like Minaj and Bieber "garbage" just because you don't appreciate they're music. They've got talent, you just can't see it. Good luck with the next 10 or so years ;)

Hi there. I have been trying to get movie fans to look at some of the many great movies made 40 years ago or earlier. With the exception of a couple of outstanding movies made in the last 10 years ,to-days movies are nothing more than synthetic disposable teen orientated pieces of garbage .The same has happened with the music scene .I don't know how anyone can call it music .It sounds like something from another planet. Real music like the movies was back in the 60's to the 90,s. There is a wealth of music that the young people of today will never experience mainly because to them it is old fashioned and it is not played over the radio anymore but it is still available on recordings.

Definately. The best CD I've listened to within the past... three years has been the soundtrack from the play Wicked. Movies are a whole different story. Sequel, sequel, remake, sequel. And they all suck. Seeing Ratatouille will be a breath of fresh air, because it's probably the most original movie being released this summer. Knocked Up was pretty amazing too.
