It seems like you only hear about afganistan when something really bad happens. It seems like the forgotten war.

I think its the forgotten war, indeed. Since Bin Laden is being protected in Pakistan, WHY are we still there??
We could very easily be fighting the same insurgent base supplies as we are Iraq. Al Quaeda is growing in strength right in front of the noses of our military.

Yes, by the media it is. We actually pretty much won the war on terror in that country, but the media can't report on that, cause that would mean our President did something right.

Either way you look at it, whether you think our president s*cks or not, you still have to admit that our media is not a supporter for our president...and that has a direct affect on the American people and how much truth they get. We trust the news to show us the real picture. I have heard from both sides...sure, the war in Iraq isn't going that great, but the media never reports on the good going on. It is sad that they are more concerned about their own political agenda rather than getting the truth out to the people.

Yeah. It doesn't get nearly as much attention as Iraq. We're currently fighting a drug was there. Afghanistan produces 90% of the world's heroine. A few nukes would take care of all our problems. But then Bush couldn't cash in on the oil revenue and that's what he's really after.

It is . It's gone from bad to worse. The country is in the hands of war lords who have their own militia paid for by heroin money except for the bit under the control of the Taliban who are busy killing the occupying forces and sending suicide bombers to Kabul.

I don't think its forgotten at all, there are like 40,000 troops from various countries there and I don't think anyone's forgotten that Osama and his buddies hatched 9/11 and other atrocities while he was working from there.

Sadly I think you are right. I do not want to blame anyone for this it's just that this is the way it is.
War is the strangest thing to understand.
