Look, the thing is this:

I bought a collectible piece on eBay some 2-3 weeks ago. When it arrived the item didn't have a Certificate of Authenticity and immediately contacted the seller.

She replied the next day, telling me that she would check in her warehouse or whatever to see if there's anything missing.
I waited for 6 long day and finally, atfer no reply from the seller, I decided to file a claim through paypal.

They have a resolutio page where you can talk directly to the seller and resolve any disputes, of course I did that. But it seems everything is on her favor.
This morning, the seller replied to me saying "auction didn't mention any COA (certificate of authenticity), we don't ship items with COA..."

So, what can I do to solve this thing in my favor?
I believe I deserve some reasonable explanation or perhaps a refund, since a collectible to be valuable must have a COA, right? I spent over 50 USD on this and now I'm very disapponted.

Someone who could help?

Not all collectibles have COA. If you are expecting one, it should be because of two things:

- the seller specifically mentions that COA will be shipped along with the item

- if no mention in the auction listing was made, you should have contacted the seller BEFORE you bid on the item and asked the question whether the item comes with COA or not

If the auction listing did not mention COA and you never clarified with the seller whether the item comes with COA, then I'm afraid that it will be very hard to resolve the matter in your favor with Paypal.

The most you can do is to leave negative feedback with the seller.

I'm sorry that you were disappointed with the transaction. But one rule in ebay: never assume anything.

Escalate your dispute to a 'Claim'. Once you do that, PayPal will take over the dispute. The seller will then have to willingly give a refund, or prove to PayPal that all items were sent, which is hard to do in this situation. If there is no resolution from the seller in 20 days, PayPal will automatically refund you the full payment on the sellers behalf, and charge the seller for doing so.

Sometimes, PayPal will instruct you to return the item to the seller. If you do so, make sure you use Delivery Confirmation so there is some viewable online tracking. In your case, they may not ask you to return the item, but just in case.

The thing is, you HAVE to escalate the dispute, if you let time periods go by, you will be out of luck.

Also, DO NOT close the dispute until you either have your refund, or the seller has sent the COA. If you close the dispute without any of these 2, you CAN NOT open another dispute. You only have a one time shot when filing a dispute.

Good luck.

**Edited:
Also, DO NOT leave any feedback until the transaction has been resolved. You have 90 days to leave feedback, so don't be in a hurry to do so. It somewhat prevents the 'Retaliatory Negative'....

Rather than proceed with filing against the seller, you need to read that listing again. If it did not say you were going to get the COA, then just put a "neutral" in the feedback that you were disappointed there was no COA with the item. Do not leave negative feedback. You need to read the listings carefully. It is also good if you would read the feedback for a seller BEFORE you bid. If she has done this before, you would have found it out and not bid.

Ouch to you. If she didn't offer a COA, what right have you to demand one ? On eBay, you get what was advertised. If you do not, you have a complaint. If the COA was not advertised and offered, you mad a sadly unwarranted assumption.
