I WENT TO WENDY'S DRIVE-THROUGH, AND THERE WAS NOBODY ELSE THERE. WHEN I GOT TO THE WINDOW TO PICK UP MY FOOD, THE GUY TOLD ME TO PARK IN THE FRONT. THERE WAS NOBODY ELSE IN LINE SO I WASN'T GETTING OUT OF ANYONES WAY. SO I PARKED IN THE FRONT AND 40 SECONDS LATER HE CAME OUT WITH MY FOOD. WHAT POSSIBLE REASON WOULD HE DO THAT FOR?

On the drive Thur there is a timer calculating the time it take you to serve the food. When the car is on the timer, it is running. By cheating the system, the employee asks the car to pull up while we prepare the food. This averages out the time when there is a rush and the time is running. Hope I was helpful. Good Luck.

Oooh this makes me so mad! They do it because once you get to the window, a timer starts to see how quickly they serve you. Once you pull up, the timer thinks that you have been served, so they don't get in trouble for being too slow. If there is no one behind me, I always politely refuse to pull up. Why should I help them by making it appear that they are giving better service than they really are. I actually got into a heated discussion about this with a girl at Taco Bell. I told her that if I pulled up, then we were both living a lie, and I wouldn't stand for it. It was pretty funny!

As the car drives up on the pad, a timer starts, after 30 seconds, it starts beeping annoyingly, meaning speed of service standards aren't the best. They have extremely high standards for speed of service, higher than any fast food restaurant I know of. The machine above drive through will calculate average speed of service times for the day. By asking you to drive ahead, it counts it as just a little over 30 seconds. Sometimes there may be a known wait on things, so they ask you to pull forward, my guess is it took less time to prepare your food than they thought it would. So the drive ahead wasn't all that necessary.

If there is no one behind me in line I REFUSE to pull up or drive around, It is NOT my fault that they are running their kitchen to slow to handle one order in a timely fashion. They are on a timer and they do suffer the consequences if they don't get orders out fast enough(usually a talking to or written up after a number of times) Revolt the next time this happens to you and if they give you attitude talk to a manager or call the 1-800 line for their business and see what that does.

Yes they have timers. I have had them do this before. Drives me batty. I sure hope they sale Wendys or close it down for good. The service and food are lousy here. They never fail to get my order wrong and are always so rude to me. I finally quit going. I think that whole finger thing even though it was that lady ruined them for good. Now I can never think about their chili without thinking of a finger in the chili bowl-yuck. I am sure many other people feel the same.

If there was no one behind you, I don't understand WHY they would have you move, timer or not.
Next time try refusing and watch your order.
