Can I upgrade my computer to this 512 MB AGP graphics card without any problems?

Heres the link:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102073

Here are my system specifications:
Compaq Presario
An Intel Pentium 4 Processor - 2.53 GHz
1.49 GB ram, and 1 Gigabyte of that was store bought
Windows XP SP 1 Version 2002

I'm wondering if the existing system power supply is enough to feed the new video card if I upgraded it.

You'll need to get SP2 installed before that card will work properly. Should be just a download from Microsoft. Just go to Start>All Programs>Windows Update and let it install SP2. Also I'm assuming you have an AGP slot on your board. Even if you do it may not be able to run the card at 8X AGP. The card should work, but if you want a more specific answer I'll need the Presario model number so I can see what size the power supply is. My recommendation is to install an Antec 450W power supply or better. Your stock PS might work, but power fluxuations may cause serious instability if you're going to play games. Hope this helps!

That card draws around 50 watts. Most name brand PCs use a power supply that is just right for the unit and hardly enough for additional devices.

But what you want done is easier w/ desktops and almost impossible w/ laptops like a Presario.
