I am starting the early stages of puberty right now and I am really worried/scared. I am very athletic, popular, pretty, and I am a tom-boy, and people at my school have been saying that I am going to be one of the last people to go through puberty. One of my best friends is also athletic, popular, pretty, and a tom-boy and she hasn't started one little bit. I am worried that my boyfriend will not like me anymore and dump me. I am also worried about all the changes and people making fun of me, even though I am popular and pretty. I am popular and pretty now, but I don't know what I am going to look like as Puberty starts. Help!

puberty is a natural thing to happen to every body and it starts for everybody on a different timelevel. Some are later than others . This usually occurs between 11 - 13 years of age.Don't worry about the others . They will like you regardless of puberty or not . They all will have to go through it

Geez don't freak out so much...you're popular, and so I'm sure that all of your fans would never leave you popular kids...

And honestly puberty's not that bad. Everyone goes through it, and it's only weird if you let it be weird. Just know that the other girls in your school that are around your age will be going through the same thing. When you start puberty, to be honest, nothing happens about being pretty, except that you end up looking beautiful, not pretty, and you look more like a woman rather than some kid. And don't worry about your popularity. If you have good friends, they won't care. And at my school some of the popular girls in my school that are in 9th grade have barely even started puberty.

Don't worry!

Every person goes through puberty. So what if you are showing earliear signs of puberty than your friend? Doesn't mean anything. Each body has its own schedule!!!

If your boyfriend dumps you because of your puberty, what the hell with him! Forget about him! If he is just dating you because you look pretty now and that you may look "unpretty" later on because of puberty, then he aint worth it! He was just a waste of your time!

Being athletic and active helps through your puberty!!! People making fun of you??? What the hell with them too! If they only liked you because you were pretty and popular and not for who you really are (sorry this all sounds sappy and everything) then they aren't your real friends or are not people you want to be with! Your friends are people who like you no matter what you look like and no matter what you are going through!

Good luck!

Stop saying you are so popular and pretty for starters. It makes you look like a selfish ***. Also your boyfriend is probably going to like you more. Lets face it...guys like boobs. But you may not find what you ned in your boyfriend anymore. Guys start puberty later than girls and you will stasrt to get a lot taller than him and your voices are going to sound exactly teh same until her starts himself.

Conssidering that you are just starting puberty you probably to young to have a real boyfreidn anyway. So it may seem like a big deal now but it really isn't.

And we all go through puberty. It's all a little odd but you'll get through it fine. You won't get ugly. You may have some zits but you can use medicne to help that. And eventually they go away. You should be happier you are going through puberty. You'll grow boobs (boys like) and grow curves (boys like). So hence you will be prettier and more popular.

Seriously stop saying you are pretty and popular. It's ungodly annoying.

Everyone goes through puberty at different stages. Some stay popular and pretty and others don't. It's just a phase though and everyone grows out of it.

Look, there's no point in worrying for something so insignificant. Judging by your comments, it seems like you've received wrong information regarding puberty or that your views on puberty are wrong. First of all, puberty is something temporary. But it takes time for it to develop fully. Yes, there will be changes both physically and mentally, but you won't suddenly be changed. You seem to look at this situation as if you expect puberty to come today and change you tomorrow. No, puberty takes time so these changes that you're worried about will happen without necessarily making you notice them. They will come into your life in a natural and almost imperceptible way.

Sweetheart, I think that's just very special that you're entering this time. It's perfectly natural that you feel this way. Most girls get very selfconcious. Just remember it's normal. People are not going to make fun of you.
This is so sweet. Don't worry that your boyfriend is going to dump you. sheesh..if he would do a thing like that b/c of this, you're better off w/o him anyway. Very immature.
You ought to confide in you Mom, your feelings, she could give you alot of insight.
It's just a special time in every young girl's life and I bet your Mom would love to hear about what's going on w/ you. I know I would want to hear from my daughter.
It's totally natural, and exciting. You're becoming a woman and the flower of your beauty is going to open up and bloom and b/f you know it bee's are going to be buzzing around you all the time....but remember don't let those bees get too close to you. They sting some of them do....so watch out....
Talk to your Mom, sweetheart, she will be able to validate your feelings. Take Care.

Okay... you have a boyfriend and you haven't even gone through puberty yet? I'm not even sure where to begin. Well... first of all keep in mind that while puberty is an awkward time, everyone goes through and therefore every one else is going to be a bit awkward for a time too.

It happens to everyone, you think puberty is going to change how you look? Naw... I think you asked this in the wrong section anyway XD Plus, being popular has nothing to do with puberty...

uh, puberty makes you look BETTER. gives you curves, you know. stuff guys like. Well, maybe not at your age, but they will eventually. Don't worry about being made fun of for starting it, it's the total opposite; you get made fun of when you don't start it puberty. And don't worry about that boyfriend stuff, it doesn't matter until you fall in love and I don't think you have.

on, and you sound pretty conceited, I'd tone that down a bit if I were you.
