Is the drive original equipment or did you just install it?

Open "My Computer". Right-click on the CD driver icon and select "Properties". Make sure Windows is recognizing the drive as DVD/CD drive.

Most DVD/CD drives come with some sort of accompanying software like "Nero". Have you installed this software?

Usually, when you leave the drive operation & control subject exclusively to Windows, there are problems like yours.

If you have installed the recommended software, it is probably time for a new DVD/CD drive.

the appropriate one you may get is the MacBook professional, 15-inch, 2.4GHz because of the fact it has the appropriate processor and the appropriate integrated pics controller whilst in comparison with something. Battery existence is respectable as nicely. the only element that i hated is the certainty that it basically had 2GB yet this is surely tremendously stable. Then i might rank something as HP Pavilion dv6700t (2nd) Dell Inspiron 1720(third) Sony Vaio CR sequence (sort huge form: VGN-CR4000) (4th) those are not undesirable even with the undeniable fact that it in simple terms potential that the macbook is greater appropriate in terms of specs.

try cleaning the lens of the laptop and then check. Be sure that the CD/DVD which u insert is free of dust and there are not many scratches on them.

i think the best way to get it working is to contact the HP guys since they know the best about laptops.
