Lightening makes me think of scars. Generally, when I see the lines of lightening spread on the sky, it makes me feel comfortable and nurtured in a way because I associate it with human scars. Lightening looks like scratches on the sky skin. I associate a lot of human emotions with natural events.

Rain = cry
thunder = shout/rage
sun = smile
wind = snoring
lightening = scars

Lightening makes me think that the sky is being carved into and broken into scars, especially if you associate it with the thunder of pain that follows the light - thunder = shout. So it comforts me because it makes me feel that the human race is not the only one suffering.

Ok, poetic mood over.

I love it! The way the night sky lights up. Especially when it's close and you hear the crack when you see the flash of light. I always think, don't hit a tree, don't start a fire, please.
