A right triangle is a trianle with one angle measuring 90 degrees. in a right triangle the lengths of the sides are related by PT c^2=a^2=b^2 where c is the length of the hypotenuse , find the length of the hypotenuse when the other 2 sides' measurements are 6 and 8 feet.

Thak you

C^2=6^2+8^2
C^2=36+64=100
C=square root of 100= 10
remember always the 3, 4, 5 in right triangle where 5 is the hypoteneuse and the adjacent and opposite sides are 3 and 4, or the 1,1 and squareroot of two in 45degree triangle.
hope this helps

i'm going to be different and say the answer is "Avocado".

Seriously it's 10. If you have trouble with the math aspect of it, it helps to draw a diagram. Draw a triangle with a square corner, one edge 6 units (use cm from a ruler) and the other side 8 units (use cm from a ruler). If you've been very careful you should be able to measure from one tip to the other and confirm the answer.

It's important to understand how you got it though. What works better is to raise each edge to the exponent of 2 giving you 36 and 64. Add these together to get 100, then get the square root of ten.

So Close: c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - so this should be rather easy then. 36 + 64 = 100 (a^2+b^2=c^2)

c^2=100

sqrt100=10=C

just a double of the 3, 4, 5 right triangle.

it is 10ft. cause 6^2 + 8^2=36 + 64 = 100 and the square root of 100 is 10.

Answering this question is like looking an answer to "the place is the London bridge located?" or "How long grew to become into the Hundred 300 and sixty 5 days conflict" - at first the respond seems glaring, whilst in certainty it is not. What all of us know as Pythagorean theorem grew to become into named after Pythagora, even though it grew to become into universal long formerly he even existed. some researches have shown that the Babylonians have universal of this mathematical theorem, and so did the previous Egyptians and citizens of what all of us know at the instant because of the fact the British Isles. while you're asking who particularly discovered it, this is a no longer uncomplicated one to respond to. you should circulate to the link under and see the place it leads you.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2
c is the hypotenuse.
a=6 b=8 c= we dont know
plug it in.
6^2 + 8^2 = c^2
36 + 64 = c^2
100=c^2
take the square root of each.
c=10
