a lot of American sons have died to keep communism at bay, we had the cold war, fought them in Vietnam, and many other places in the world.
Yet today the Vietnamese economy is booming, so is the Chinese economy, which will soon pass the US as the biggest economy in the world, and even the Russians finally got it right and are on the move economically,so again the question is, do they have a better system??

The reason why they are booming is because they are moving towards a more democratic-capitalistic society.

Look at how great Russia did! No, communism stinks. What is wrong with democracy. Isn't America one of the longest lasting countries in the history of history?

Conditions for the individual person under communism are typically horrible. People often do not have many of the basic things that are required for a healthy living condition. The communist system in theory is a far superior system however in real life it has never worked the way it is supposed to. There always ends up being a dictator and the people are never given back the power nor are they ever given the equal shares of the money that are promised them. As the poster in front of me noted, communist systems that boom tend to boom becuase they adopt things from capitolism. Capitolism is by no means perfect but it is probably the most effective way to keep people creating new things. It also encourages productivity, as the person who produces the best gets more money.

Just as an aside, Russia is no longer communist. Hasnt been since the late 80's. Have you been in a hole?

As Sassabras said, Communism in theory is an excellent theory and idea, but its implementation is always flawed and leads to dictatorships.

Communism is an economic ideal, not a political system.

There have been many countries run by communist parties but there has only been one communist country in the world, and that was Cambodia (April 1975 to January 1979) during the Khmer Rouge period, and look at the mess the Khmer Rouge made of the country and the people,

The Democracy is OK! But we have leaders in this Country that will trade there Mama for a Buck! Every time we get a good thing in this country we abuse it big time. Crude oil! What did we do back in the day? The Buffalo! How did we handle that? What were we going to do the Mustang horses? See this Country was dedicated to God back in 1607 in Jamestown and when we got beside ourselves thing always come back to haunt you. Read the old Testament God used Israel as an example to show how he would take care of a christian nation. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhh but
now if you aren't a saved person then this won't mean any thing to you either.

never to me. Communism has never particularly been practiced considering that in Marxist theory. Communism is the 0.33 step of a three step plan – the 1st step is revolution (to get rid of the monarchy or government), the 2d step is the organization of a ruling proletariat this is termed “socialism” (a central authority of the folk). while the socialist government attains its important purpose – removal of all inner maximum belongings possession, the government is meant to step down and the state will become headless – this is communism. as a consequence, there has never been a real communist state as all socialist states finally end up keeping their government. i do no longer have faith the two will paintings as a results of highway blocks that are available place.

I'm sure all those Vietnamese and Chinese people in sweatshops really agree with that. Not to mention the millions of Russians that died of starvation while under communist rule.

And the Chinese economy has only started growing once it started to open up economically and start to accept certain features of capitalism.

In a word NO. Communism will never work because all things are shared equally, except those things coveted by the people in power, which they keep, while the average person has no food or utilities. As long as you have a system where people receive benefit whether they work or not you are in trouble.

Unless that system is welfare, then we just fund it more.

History teaches us that Communism will no longer work in a high tech, information age.

In order to have success with that, the country must be isolated. Take a look at N. Korea. It has no progress, no friends, no thriving economy. It merely has oppression of its people in a deadly environment.

I strongly think NO. Because, they may boom their economy by following the path of communism. But what for? who are going to be benifited from it? may be the dictator himself. What if in a country the majority of people suffer? It is not a good rule ultimately.
