Lol 3x+4 if x is 5. Translation,,,3X5 +4 . I have always had a problem with maths and i still do. Heres something you need to understand about sums like this,,,
ANYTIME YOU SEE A NUMBER DIRECTLY NEXT TO A LETTER IT MEANS THAT YOU MULTIPLY.
ANYTHING INSIDE BRACKETS IS TO BE MULTIPLIED BY THE OUTSIDE NUMBER/LETTER
eg 3(5) Translation 3X5.
WHEN YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE NUMBER OR A VARIABLE INSIDE BRACKETS THE FIRST LETTER OR VARIABLE IS MULTIPLIED BY THE OUTSIDE NUMBER eg 3(x+4) if x is 5.
Translation 3 Multiplied by 5("x" is 5) which is 15. Then 15 + 4 = 19.
Im almost 30 years old now but i only discovered these facts only last year. You can imagine how confused i was in highschool and stuff. Dont even talk to me about fractions and percentages i have no idea what the heck that is yet lol. But i hope it helps you a little though.
