As I was baking today I noticed something unusual about my electric oven. I noticed a small one-inch glow after I was done. I didn't think much of it until it kept moving and then eventually sparking. I immediately unplugged it and noticed that the heating element cracked. Can this be replaced? And is it easy enough for me? I am selling my house and I don't want to have to buy another stove.

Yes it can be replaced.....prepare to spend about 50 dollars to get another one. I used to work at this place that sold these parts!! I highly recommend them!! Before you call, find the model # and the first three digits of your serial number. You will need these to identify your element. Ohhh yeah... as a reminder.....if it was the bottome element, ...it is called the bake element. If it was the element on the top of the oven cabinet, it is the broil element!!

Yes it can be replaced and it's easily done, go to a store that sells the heating elements in your area with the make and model of your stove.

They will sell you one, it just unplugs and plugs back into the little silver connector in the center of the back of the element.

Yes, Go to an appliance repair store with the element and they'll be able to match it up.

There are screws at the base of the element you remove and pull straight out on the element.

Buy a replacement element. They're not expensive.
