I should mention my husband did not grow up in this country and sometimes just does some crazy things with his clothes. The biggest thing that irks me is how he always wears white socks with black pants. I have hid them, bought him more black socks...all kinds of things. But he always finds the white socks! LOL If we are going out together I usually get him to change them but it is such a hassle. Should I just let this go? I've accepted so many things he does...but the clothing thing is really bothering me.

Actually, a lot of ppl notice that! I remember working somewhere b4 and we weren't allowed to let somebody thru to interview if their socks did not match. It was thought to be the most simplest thing. He does have so good clothes...but he always seems to mess it up somehow...he's not home now...maybe I will throw the socks away now LOL ;) thanks girls!

haha, i laughed so hard when i saw this. mine does the same thing (black pants, white socks, black shoes), but its not so bad bc it is usually for a job where he is on his feet the whole time so it doesnt get noticed. he did try it once when we were going somewhere but i must have appeared so horrified when i saw the white that he changed, no problem.
have you tried looking for black socks that are more comfy? most black socks seem to be sort of a tight nylon (which is why i hate wearing them, myself, but usually they're the only ones thin enough to let me to put my nice boots on!!)... maybe you can find nicer wool ones that arent as squeezy or cotton ones just like the whites except that they're black (do they even make black cotton socks? i almost doubt it bc the color would probably fade away so quick..)
maybe you could just let it go unless it is something where it would be really noticeable (such as, sitting down at a nice dinner vs sitting down at a dark movie place), and then while he's showering to get ready you can set out the socks along with the shoes?

well, im not married yet so i dont really understand how your husband appearances could distract u..
but i do have personal story regarding that socks. when i was in high school i have a friend who likes to do weird things, but everyone likes her coz she's very friendly indeed.my classmate who sit beside me tell this story...
"one day, i coincidently met her at the toilet and i was astaunded to find that she's wearing black socks at her right feet and white at her left(or vice versa-i dont really remember), so i ask her..why do you wear like that?
and she said happily, u know what? u are the first one who notice about this.i've been wearing like this for nearly 2 weeks and nobody aware..i just doing a test on what might attracting people and i found that socks is not one of them"
so,what im trying to say is just accept your husband the way he is...as long as he always be there for u then that's already enough
it's greater for u then to has a husband who is well-built and smart looking pretending to attract other women attention.

LOL It's funny, in our marriage *I* am the fashion idiot. I wear simple clothes, easy colors, no real patterns... My husband is the fashion guru and often helps me put my outfits together! I see from your question (and many others) that I truly am blessed.
I wish I had some advice for you, Sister, but I think your husband and I need to be in the same "How to Dress 101" classes. ;-) Good luck on breaking his bad habits. Maybe one day the sock issue will just 'click' with him.

throw away old his old clothes and socks and buy him new ones. that way he'll be forced to to wear the ones you want him to. but maybe i would just accept the fact that he likes to wear white socks with black pants. thats a man for ya, they dont care if their pants and socks match! lol

What about showing him how guys dress in magazines, or pointing out guys that are dressed nice when you two are out for dinner, or shopping. Of course you could get rid of the black pants so he only has light color ones to wear with his white socks.

My husband, thank God, was blessed with being extremely fashionable. He actually picks out MY clothes!
But just toss the white socks. That would make me crazy.
