I know this is nasty, but I just had to ask after I heard that joke about the vampire putting a tampon in hot water and making tea.
Do you think a vampire would enjoy giving "oral pleasure" to a girl on her period?? Has there been any references to this in novels or pop culture or do I actually have a (disgusting) original idea??

I'm not talking about the seriousness of a vampire sticking a tampon in water and making tea - its a joke. a vampire walks into the bar and asks for a cup of hot water. he then goes into the women's bathroom, but instead of finding a woman to bite, he just takes a used tampon and tells the bartender he's having tea.
it's supposed to be funny.

Actually no this isnt an original idea, in fact many of the vampire mythologies started with connections to menstruation, Especially in tribal groups.
As discussion of 'womens mysteries' became taboo, many of these myths were altered to speak of the blood, but not of its connection to the womans cycle.
During the Victoria Era, when many topics became forbidden and they were couched in hidden meanings, vampirism was one such topic that was linked with women - think on Bram Stokers daracula, the original vampire is a male but all his 'underlings (from whom he feeds) were female( an euphamism for oral sex on a woman).
The female vampire was also a symbol of the womans power hidden in the night (darkness), her association with the ability to bleed YET NOT DIE. And the fear many men had of their ability to create new life - from the blood (menstruation not being fully understood)
This obsession with the feasting on blood has moved into a new generation of people who associate with the mythology of "vampyres", and either 'let the blood' or drink menstrual blood from thier partner as a symbol of sexuality as well as intimacy (think on Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thorton and their vials of blood to symbolise their union)

Since there is very little actual blood (maybe a tablespoon) I doubt the vampire would find it interesting. The ammonia taste/smell would spoil it.
It's certainly an original idea and not one most novelists would want to attempt. Mostly because of the squeamishness everyone has concerning menses.

that's what I even have accumulated via studding them. the vampire race is a grasping one. they did no longer continuously look human and that they did no longer continuously want the existence source of yet another to stay. they have been like a breed of canines, they proclaimed themselves and the canines race to be better and finally challenged all different races. the wolves decrease back in that location have been there to maintain the peace and to kill something status interior the way of that peace. while the problematical canines refused to bypass into opposite it began an all out conflict. no longer purely with wolves and vampires yet with the different animals of the dominion besides. after the conflict grew to become into gained via the wolves a curse grew to become into placed on the vampires inflicting their super existence span and a want for capability to stay, this variety they can't rule. in the event that they have been to do this action returned they could be decrease off from their capability furnish and as a consequence die. the curse got here with different element impacts besides mutually with being no longer able to heal. as quickly as a vampire gets a conflict wound its there for good. yet this is purely genuine for finished blooded vampires no longer a million/2 breeds.

The smell and taste of the blood that comes from menstruating is different from blood elsewhere in the body. It's also not fresh. Blood pumping from a vein would be nice and fresh, but coming out from being on your period, not so much. And I don't think too much blood would come off a tampon if dunked in water...

There is a scene in one of Anne Rice's books where this "activity" takes place. I think it's in Taltos, but I'm not positive. I'll keep looking.

Whatever is wrong with reality, face that, and forget about vampires. You still have a long life ahead of you, but it passes quick.

"Serious" and "Vampire" shouldn't be included in one sentence.
