It depends on who it is and what they mean to you. If it is someone very close to you and you enjoy being around them, let it go in one ear and out the other, with a smile on your face. As long as they are not ridiculing you for not being good at anything or not being as good as they are, then it shouldn't bother you. Corrective critisisim comes in useful at times, but there are those who don't understand the difference between a putdown & a corrective critisisim gesture. What it comes down to is what this person means to you, and what you mean to them. My husband is the same way and he is good at some things, not all things. Yet he cherishes me and never belittles me. So I will stick with him. What he doesn't know is that I am the best at everything, but I let him think he is. See we all got a little of it in us. lol. All it means is we like ourselves. Some of us more than others.

Do you mean their confidence doesn't match their bank account or Degrees of Education; or someone who lacks self awareness? If the latter, maybe they need to try out philosophy it helped my self knowledge a lot but for me it was lack of self confidence rather than too much. Alan Watts is good I think also meditation might help they might not notice because they are not calm enough they've never settled down into a thought before; maybe only feeling to feeling or experience to experience.
Also they may have trauma they're avoiding don't know how to help there

Ignorance is bliss. If you ignore them (or severely limit the amount of attention that you give to them), they lose the power that they have over others. The arrogance/self-confidence comes from the fact that most people defer to them and listen to what they have to say. Try semi-ignoring them during a conversation and see what kind of impact it has. Act disinterested when speaking to them, like you always have something better to do. Then sit back and enjoy the show.

Why in the world would you feel the need or the right to bring anyone down? Who cares what they believe? You need to grow up!

if they make an outlandish claim, call them on it. make them look like the fools they are. some people try to b.s. there way out of it, but everyone else sees that there an idiot.
some people never realize how they are either. it's like part of there personality. so you might as well have fun proving them wrong.

U can't. U have to wait until they make a mistake and they learn for themselves. If u try to make sense to them, it won't work.

Use any flaw they have to crush their self esteem. I wouldn't recomend it though, it's not nice.
