ok.. the study of fungi is mycology.. when fungi cause disease it is term mycoses...

ok.

did u know that yeast is a fungi.. yes... it differ from other type of fungi but the classification of yeast is by biochemical test just like bacteria..

ok.. as for the multicellular fungi, they are identified by physical appearance, colony characteristic and reproductive spore..

fungal colonies are describe as vegetative structures because the composed of cell involved in catabolism and growth..

ok.. a fungi have 3 basic characteristic that is the thallus(body), hyphae and a mass of hyphae is called a mycelium..

there are types of hyphae.. a septate hyphae(have separation) and coenocytic hyphae( don't have)..

ok.. for the classification..

Zygomycota have coenocytic hyphae and produce sporangiasporesand zygospores

Ascomycota have septate hyphae and produce ascospores and frequently conidiospores

Basidiomycota have septate hyphae and produce ascospores and some produce conidiospores...

The 6 kingdoms are Fungi, Animalia, Protista, Plantae, Archaea bacteria, Eubacteria and Fungi is Fungi, but the classifications are Kingdom ,Phylum, class ,order, genus, and species and fungi is under species

Fungi are classified by their structures for reproduction:
Ascomycetes - spores in a sac-like ascus
Basiodiomycetes - spores on a club-like basidium
Phycomycetes - spores made on a sporangium
Deuteromycetes - unknown method
