Quite possibly the fish is constipated. I would suggest you not feed it for a day then try to feed in some soft fiber. A softened pea without the hull is a very good source of fiber. That should clear things up in a day or so.

Yup, I have a feeling he's constipated too. This happens when you overfeed your betta, which is very easy to do (their stomachs are the size of their eyes). You can also tell if he's constipated if he has a bloated belly. DO NOT feed him anymore fish food. Here's what to do:
1. Do not feed him anything for one day, two if possible.
2. Get a frozen pea (not fresh, they have pesticides, and not canned, they have preservatives)
3. Put it in a small dish of tank water (make sure it's water from your fish tank and not from the tap)
4. Microwave on high for 30 seconds
5. Leave it to cool (careful! The water will get very hot)
6. Once it has cooled, carefully remove the shell of the pea (your betta can't eat it) and cut the insides into very very small pieces.
7. Feed your betta about a quarter of the pea. No more than that, or your betta will just get even more constipated.
The pea will act as a laxative and clear out his digestive system. After feeding him the pea, do not feed him anything else until he shows improvement.
It could also be parasites, but I don't think it is because that would cause some other symptoms as well, and you didn't mention any other signs of sickness. You might want to look out for any growths on him or if he stops eating. His colour will probably go paler as well. Look out for any other symptoms and post again if anything else goes wrong.

At your age it actual does not look popular. I had baths with my sisters till like 7. 14 and 15 is a sprint previous to be doing that. Regardless, while you're completely mushy and it is not sexual or something I actual do no longer see a topic.

You never know what happen to him. He could be tricky or it's a disease and as I know the disease called bladder, It means swim sideway or not normal. If you willing to help there probably some site on the internet could help. I saw this website online it's called "http://www.betta-fish-expert.com/?hop=ando19", they have a book about betta for sell, the book called Betta Fish Secrets and I think they could solve your problem.

It could be nothing serious, as people have said before it could be constipation. Though it could be something more serious. Do a bit of research, and keep close watch. But as long as it is still eating, it's probably OK.
But just in case:

Not a good sign, I'm afraid. We've had 3 bettas over the years and when they start acting like you describe, that usually means they are not well. There is a universal medicine you can buy at major pet stores...like PetSmart, etc. You put a few drops each day in the water for about a week. Sometimes it helps...sometimes it doesn't. The people at the good stores will explain its use to you.

If you have had a betta for a year, consider yourself very lucky. They only have a lifespan of about 2 years, and they are usually full grown by the time one is purchased. I am sure he is prob on his way out, sorry to say. They are pretty strong fish so he will hold on and eat until the end.

Go to your local pet store and get some medication for it, just general medication. Obviously you don't want to be giving the whole dosage because one capful is for about 10 gallons, so just add a little bit. If he isn't dead yet, sorry but it won't take him long unless the medication works. Whatever you do, don't change his water, because he's got good bacteria in there, and with you removing the bacteria while he is sick there is no way he will survive that. There is also a liquid you can add to the water, can't remember the name of it but it's made by Hagen and it helps to prevent loss of fish by adding good bacteria into the water. Hope this helps. I must also add that a betta at a year old, is great! Don't know what you did, but you're doing great!

He may be dying. I think the life span is up to 4 years old. Has he been exposed to warm temperature? Is his fish bowl in the sunlight? It may be heat exhaustion. Unfortunately I did this to my betta and he died.
He could be sick. Does he have any lesions? White fuzz on him?
There may be helpful things on that care sheet I posted in the source.
