If the rest of the world loved us we wouldn't have been attacked Sept. 11, we wouldn't be at war right now, we wouldn't be on the verge of war with Iran and N. Korea.
I've spent a good percentage of my life overseas as a kid and in the military, and I can say that most people have no problem with the American people they just do not like our governments political stance on certain things. However, I tell them that while I do not agree with everything my government does I support them 100% because as an American that's what you should do. I keep my issues between me and my senator, I do not go mouthing off to anyone who will listen, because then people start hating America just because they see you don't like your own country.

At last count there were at least 12 million (probably actually many more) people who gave up everything they had to come here illegally. When you add in the millions who have come here though legal processes, I think it's safe to say that many would love to call the United States home. No other country in the world has nearly as many people who would give up their home, possessions, and in many cases family to move to.
I think there are many who dislike America not because of our strength, but because our country is a beacon of hope for those who they oppress.

I think they hate us when we don't play along with their UN or other international bodies because Europe believes in the international system. So when we invade Iraq without UN approval it upset the way they think the world should run. I personally don't remember signing any document that says I have to obey the UN. My govt might have but I didn't so they can fudge themselves.

The American government? No, of course not. We don't like our own government. I don't think our government likes our government.
American ideals and culture? Yes. People do respect America not only for its wealth and power, but as a free and peaceful place to live.

They will love us again when they need help, some of the world just can not stand it when we have to slap their hands and whip their as*, because they were bad. America and Americans are good parents to them others, we teach them tough love. They will be back , dragging their tails behind them.

Most of the rest of the world probably thinks about the U.S.A about as much as I think of Paraguay almost never.People don't care all that much. Unless we start to point our guns at them they will ignore us.

Well, why do we have a waiting list for immigrants who
want to move here and live here permanently? I'd say,
if you don't love America to move far away to another
country and see if you like it better. I kissed the ground
when the plane I came back across the seas landed.
We're even putting up fences to keep people out and
have security on our seas to turn back people in boats.
So, the answer to your question is "YES".

It's a big world. Some of the people love us, and some of them don't. Of those who don't, some of are terrorists, and some of are appeasers of terrorists. Frankly, I could do without their love.

Most people I've met traveling like america - but they can't stand Bush and don't understand the people who voted for him the second time. My first trip to Europe after the 2004 election I had to answer a lot of questions.
