Is it the case that we want to lose the Tri Nations?

All though it doesn't work that way, ther's a point to it too.
Peak too early and you're flat by the time you reach the business end of the WC.
Giving up or taking it easy on some doesn't mean you are weak. Afterall, you don't have to win every battle to win a war.

Thats ridiculous and superstitous. I don't think any rugby player worth his salt wants to lose any game. Why not the Tri Nations AND the World Cup, now wouldn't that put out the message that the ABs are the best? Go All Blacks!

NZ are undoubtably the best team in the world....

But in a once off match such as a world cup semi final or final, Australia South Africa and France have a chance of just unsetting the All Blacks.

Ireland and Argentina should not be underestimated either.

Myself, I think a Springbok vs All Black final, and then it is anyones game.

Its funny how stressed the All Blacks get in World Cup years

I think people will want to see the ABs come through with no major injuries, play reasonably well, and to also win the series, although one loss (a tight one) would be acceptable. I think people are fixated on all these so called "trends" etc leading into a WC year - a tournament requires a team to peak at the right time, not three months out from the tourny.

Hell no! What we wanna see is the All blacks win the tri-nations whilst still in third gear, then kick into overdrive and win the world cup. This year is designed for our top players to peak at world cup time, so for them to dominate the tri-nations would indicate that further improvement towards world cup time would make them very hard too beat.

thats a stupid thing to ask, there was not tri nations in 91 or 95 and we didn't win so I don't think the tri nations has anything to do with it. there are a lot of factors to why we haven't won it since
87 but that will take to long to explain.
