No, something is right here.
I'd like to thank you for pointing that out. It says alot about people when their kids turn out well.

Yeah.
I'm a republican who is probably going to follow the likes of Michael Bloomberg and disassociate myself from the party. I'm so tired of the same propaganda being piped my way all the time. I used to think they really believed what they said. I used to think they knew what they were talking about. The turning point for me was listening to Colin Powell talk about how f'ed up the Bush Administration is. I've had a great deal of respect for General Powell since the days of George H W Bush (Reagan's successor), and listening to him was kind of like "the straw that broke the camel's back".
The two-party system is broken terribly. It's no longer about issues, but elect-ability. Both parties are guilty of getting that "swing vote" at the expense of giving up the values they stand for.
I don't care if candidates are GOP or Dem or anything else. I'm going to listen to the candidates and if I like what I hear, they'll get my vote. They also need to be consistent. My biggest problem with Kerry was that he WAS a flip-flopper. My biggest problem with Bush is that either he is a flat-out liar or he's extremely ignorant of what's going on in the world. Either way, it doesn't bode well.
I try to respect the office of the president. I've held my tongue for a long long time. No more. If he really wants to leave a legacy he can be proud of, he'll clean up the mess he's made before leaving office.
I'm not holding my breath.

Now, to answer your question...Yes. Something is wrong. But does it really surprise you that an oil baron from Texas who had so much money that he bought a BASEBALL TEAM (which NO ONE buys as a money making venture -- more like a tax-shelter loss thingy), would set a partying example for his daughters?

I am as liberal as they come, however, I do know that the Bush twins both received their undergraduate degrees:
Barbara-from Yale in Humanities
Jenna-from University of Texas at Austin in English.
I think the twins achievement is admirable.
The fact that they have been caught partying with underage drinking at least at one point, is not so admirable, but not unforgiveable.
Chelsea, though, received a History degree from Stanford then a master's degree in International Relations from Oxford (where her father Bill was a Rhodes Scholar). Granted Chelsea's academic record is more impressive, and I never heard of any untoward behavior on record about Chelsea.
While it does take a village to raise a child, you don't want the village idiot helping you raise your child.

Your avatar tells us a lot about you, I fear! The normal way to go through college is just the way the Bush daughters did so I'm thinking maybe Ms. Clinton is a party poop! Barbara and Jenna Bush are both involved with wonderful jobs right now, so what is your real problem here?

Do you have a site for the twin's antics? I know they've gotten drunk and been partying, but that describes 90% of college students. I don't think it is fair to judge George and Laura for their kids going through a stage most kids go through.

Well there's something wrong with a Commander in Thief too busy to raise responsible daughters, thats for sure.
Maybe they were raised by the Illegal Immigrant Nanny Consuelo, who taught them how to drink tequila when Dubya stiffed her on another paycheck... I did always think Laura was the good parent of the two, but apparently this responsibility is shared between both incompetent parents.

Hillary didn't raise Chelsea. The Village did. Hillary didn't even birth Chelsea. Janet Reno did.
As for the drunk party girls, both are teachers and respectable young women. The Bush twins are American-educated. Billary thought so much of the education she built during the 90s she sent her child out of the nation.

Well, we seem to value party going antics like Paris Hilton over people with solid educations. It's sad.

Bush's girls are fine. Everybody gets drunk and goes to parties once in a while. They don't do it excessively. But thanks for picking on children. You're a real class act.
