A weaker dollar means people from other countries can afford to buy more U.S. products. Selling more products increases employment. Greater employment increases tax revenues. A strong U.S. dollar and American's penchant for spending is what creates our usual trade deficit. And the world turns.
However, this must be balanced. We don't want the dollar to fall so low as to not have people trust it as an investment vehicle. That would hurt the flow of investment capital in which all countries depend upon.
The dollar isn't worthless. There are other countries that base their currency off of what the dollar does. They wouldn't do so if it was worthless.

Many people don't realize it but the dollar becomes slowly worthless as more of them go into circulation.
Democrats who want a higher minimum wage would welcome printing more dollars so the workers would get more money. But what they don't tell you is gas prices will rise, food prices will rise, and in general with more money in circulation prices on everything rise until you're actually losing buying power.
Same thing in the housing market. Lenders inject lots of dollars, house prices rise, & property taxes rise, and when the home owner for one reason or another can't make payments they lose everything.
The answer is:: A stable and sound dollar!
A dollar backed by Gold!
Elect Ron Paul and he will put the U.S. back on a Gold standard!

In economics, the terms "strong dollar" and "weak dollar" have a meaning different from the connotations in everyday language. "Strong" and "weak" are not necessarily good or bad.
When the dollar is strong, Americans have better purchasing power in the world market. Porsches and Australian wine are relatively cheaper to Americans.
When the dollar is weak, American goods and services are relatively cheaper on the world market. Coca-Cola and Kenworth trucks are relatively cheaper; therefore, we will export more.

"my investments are doing great"
just imagine how great they would be doing if they didn't send that money over seas to exploit cheap communist labor!
but a worthless dollars allows the international corporations that have their money in other cuurencies to buy up more of America, for less money.
It also allows them to increase profit, when they put their money in other currencies, and then switch back when the value of the dollar drops.
If your money is in other currency, you make a killing if the economy of America would flop!
