Fast food is food that is already premade. Olive Garden makes all their items on order which is not fast food. Also to qualify for fast food you need a drive thru. Olive Garden is a casual dining resturant like red lobster its fresh and the quality is usually better.

Appleby's is not considered fast food, though they have the service where you can have the food delivered to your car. I don't see why Olive Garden would be a fast food place. It's sit down & eat, with waitresses.

Some of these answers frighten me! No, it's not quite fast food, but- "nice"? Classy? FANCY? I can only hope that these comments come from people who've never lived within fifty miles of any Italian people. It's certainly possible to do "casual Italian" fairly well, but Olive Garden borders on the disgusting. Just save the four bucks apiece and go to freaking Fazoli's.

No. Drive thrus are definitely "fast food". Servers take a restaurant out of the fast food category.

No. I would consider it more of a family chain restaurant.It is owned by the same people that own several other chain restaurants. Also family style.The food is quality and the service is what seperates it from fast food.

Olive Garden is definitely NOT a fast food place, and they would be highly insulted if you implied that to them! LOL It's one of the nicer, classier, sit-down eat in chain restraunts. My hubby says (LOL) if you asked THEM if they were fast food, the chef might come after you with a meat cleaver!

Nope, when a resteraunt has waiters then it would be considered casual dining not fast food. But just because it isn't considered "fast food" doesn't mean it's not a great place to enjoy a meal.
