First you can do simple things to your ride to make it fuel efficient. Such as, lightening your load. Anything you don't Need, take it out, except that spare tire. Change your oil Regularly. Check your tire pressure and make sure they are all between 32 and 40 psi (but make sure they are all the same). Even as simple as just taking your foot off the gas: Keeping it under 3000 rpms will make a huge impact on gas if you drive anything like I do. More mechanical things that will actually involve real money, as opposed to fake money... are more for 'tuners' than dailys. Replace your regular a** air filter with a K$N 'race' filter. It will give you some power back from your old Pfinder and increase fuel economy. Larger exhaust like 2 inches will be helpful, especially in addition to new intake and performance Headers. If its a standard (and only a standard) you could purchase a lightweight flywheel but if you don't know how to install it, it will be pricey to put on. Suspension helps your tires grab the road and stick when you push the pedal. So make sure you're not driving a boat and slap on some new struts and springs. Also grab some new tires for your ride. Every car loves new tires for her birthday. And get an alignment after you purchase your new tires. If you don't feel any of these things helped, get your heads reconditioned and put on new head gaskets. If it still hasent changed, get a new vehicle.
