Sure, just take your phone to a verizon store & they would do it

Under 30 days can be done.
If you are just swapping phones call VZ customer serivce
Tell them you tired to change the ESN, Electronic Serial Number, on the web site and no success. They will waive the $15 0r $20 fee. Be real now.
Then they will do it on the computer and help you activate the new phone of your choice with your phone number.
I am ex Verizon and know this did it many 10000 times.
Be proactive and say the web site would not work. Or they will nail you for the fee. I waived it all the time your phone bill is enough for this company.

Good luck

Well I don't know if you can take the SIM card out of Verizon phones, but if you can just switch the cards. I have no idea if the cards are compatible or not so I don't recommend this. Just take it to a Verizon dealer and they should do it for free. Or call Verizon and they'll tell you what to do.

Your phone number should stay the same no matter what make/model phone you have, as long as you stay with the same cell phone provider.

i think you are able to keep your phone number if you just switch SIM cards. i'm assuming here that you're not changing carriers.

the SIM card, for the past two phones i've had, is located under the battery of the phone :)
