The Prom is a rite of passage. It comes from the French word "promenade" which means to walk. So it's a chance to dress up in finery and walk around showing off. It's probably the only chance some people will ever get to dress up like that. Let those who will go crazy over the Prom do just that.
I went to my Junior Prom with the boy of my dreams. We ended up going steady that night. He's on his 4th wife now... I went to my Senior Prom with my best friend, a girl. We got dressed in gorgeous dresses, treated ourselves to a fancy dinner and then danced with everyone's dates. It was a blast and way better than Junior Prom.
But if the Prom is absolutely stupid to you, have an anti-Prom party. Dress up in grungies, do something crazy and messy and have a great time.
Just make the night fun, whatever you do. You're only young once, and you'll never have another Prom.

i agree. seriously it's ridiculous and for the obsessive people on answers who are just trying to make yahoo answers more of a reality. i'm sorry those people are bored and all and want something exciting, but i mean it's summer! get away from your computer and i don't know get a tan or something that a computer doesn't provide. don't worry i'm not obsessed with this site and only com here once in a while and am not a level 6 and don't plan on attending or competing for an online prom?!
