Geez, aren't they scraping the bottom of underneath the barrel for storylines in WWE now?
The car bomb angle is the biggest load of absolute rubbish for any soap opera, let alone professional wrestling. Still, I hope they are writing the Mr McMahon character out, bored of him fueding with the wrestlers.
Oh well, at least they didn't bring in Glacier when they bought WCW.
1. How can he be presumed dead, if he was in the limo when it happened? Even the lowest of the marks should know that if this ridiculous storyline was true, Mcmahon's body would be found by now(if it REALY happened)
2. I also find it funny how they're putting so much effort into this with all the FBI/federal agents bullshit. WWE can't really sink lower. What next, are the Undertaker and Kane going to resurrect Eddie G. from the dead? (Even though they'd never agree to do that angle).
This just shows the state of the WWE now. At least the marks would buy into an injury angle, but I guess if the Steve-O theory is right it's a good start for the WWE vs. Jackass angle.

"On June 11, 2007, WWE aired a segment at the end of RAW that featured McMahon (in character) entering a limousine moments before it exploded. The show went off-air shortly after, and WWE.com reported the angle as though it were a legitimate occurrence, proclaiming that McMahon was "presumed dead." Although this was the fate of the fictional Vince McMahon character, no harm came to the actual person (that is, his death was part of a storyline)."

RORY SWEENEY
WILKES-BARRE TWP. – Did Vince McMahon, who’s bluffed and blustered his way into the ringmaster’s role of the testosterone-fueled soap opera that is professional wrestling, really fall for the old bomb-in-the-limo trick?

Mid-Day Note: In search of Vince McMahon
Though World Wrestling Entertainment would have you believe otherwise, the answer is no.
“No one was in any danger,” said Steve Poremba of Monday night’s WWE RAW spectacle at the Wachovia Arena, though he would not elaborate until WWE had sent out a news release.
Despite articles on the wrestling federation’s Web site that firefighters and federal agents are investigating, workers at the Luzerne County 911 Center confirmed that it was “a stunt” and that no emergency vehicles were called to the arena on Monday night.
FBI officials have not yet returned a call.
But fans from across the country have been contacting local media to confirm reports that McMahon, the chairman of the board of WWE, was blown up in a fiery limo-bombing on his very own “Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night,” which was televised on USA Network. McMahon had walked out of the building to the waiting vehicle, so fans inside the arena saw the same televised live scene.
Only it was wasn’t live. Supervised by Zenith Pyrotechnology, based in Deer Park, N.Y., the explosion was actually filmed at the arena late Saturday night, the footage of the burning hulk taped Sunday night and the whole mess spliced together, said Andy Kratz, the township’s zoning officer.
“They did it, I believe, at 11 o’clock at night until 3 a.m. so no one would be around,” he said, adding that it was done in a section generally blocked from public view by the building and surrounding land features.
The pyrotechnics company had to get permits, which Kratz said they did about a week ago. “We have pyrotechnics shows in the arena all the time” for wrestling and ice skating, among other things, he said. “They say they do this quite a bit,” but usually not outside.
Representatives of the pyrotechnics company have not returned calls for comment.
The stunt seems to be part of an ongoing story of McMahon’s spiral into insanity, which wwe.com has been supporting with repeated updates of the faux-bombing story.
“Over the last few weeks on WWE programming, the swaggering, well-off billionaire seemed to unravel right before the eyes of millions. … Mr. McMahon even cited the looming of a “black cloud” last week – a cloud very similar to the post-combustive smoke that billowed above his limousine tonight,” the Web site reported. “The ominous reality is that what was brushed off as incoherent ramblings of a broken man and former ECW World Champion actually may have proven to be an exercising of a recently discovered sixth sense.”
WWE representatives have not yet returned a call for comment.
My comments:
Which explains to all wrestling fans worldwide...are NOT 100% convinced about the events ocurred of the "demise of Mr. McMahon". It was simply a storyline, plain and simple. And a DAMN GOOD ONE! What will ol' Vinnie Mac have under his sleeve... only time will tell.

You're completely right. Actually, much more people who are NON-wrestling fans were fooled by this thann people who are wrestling fans. Why? Because they couldn't really grasp the concept of an "angle" or "storyline."
I mean, sure, it seems obvious to us and all other wrestling fans. But, for example, my friends who don't watch wrestling truly believed than Triple H and Mr. McMahon dispised each other because they didn't understand the DX rivavlry was an "angle."
Same thing here. It was caught on live camera on the LAST minute of the show. It was the one of the ONLY times Vince was ever videotaped going to his limo in the history of RAW. Seems obvious the explosion was staged, but non-wrestling fans who don't watch RAW on a weekly basis wouldn't understand that like you and I would.
This is why stockholders and other business people who aren't really WWE's biggest fans were fooled.

I think it's amazing that television can make something so fake look so real. My son who's 11 thought it was real up until last night when he appeared for the tribute. As for me, I tried to explain to him that, When he kept putting his foot on the ground that gave him time to slip out the other side and had a prop shut the door just before the explosion. What a show though huh? I'm sure a lot of people were trying to cash in on his so called tragedy...What a riot !

Well me personally i was totally shock when i saw that myself and i know that it has beed used over and over again you must admit that it did get attention from non wrestling fans as well as wrestling fans. I was really like wow. To be really honest i am a wrestling fan i do know that he is not dead but i really want to know where is this storyline going. I can usually pick up on certain storylines and tell were they are going but for this one this is like ok what are they going to do next. Really they are doing all of this because the usa network wants raw to bring up there ratings so this is all about ratings.
And one more thing stephanie look hot monday night but she can't fake cry for anything. lol

I think that it was kind of a shock. Most of us, or at least those of us who have watched for years, knew if was a storyline. Most of the things I have seen outside of the WWE are making the same comments as the Wall Street Journals had. I think most people who think its real think that way because they are young. The others haven't been fans long enough to realize it was a set up.
